Negativity

Thu Mar 08, 2012 3:03 pm

First topic Ive ever made here, and although I have been reading this forum for some time I have only just felt the need to register.

A lot of posts on here seem to be quite negative, yes we are on a bad run of form and there are some questions that need to be asked about the selection and the signings made, however lets just take a trip back to last summer, when it was a complete rebuild by Malky with very little money spent!

Any one with half a brain cell would have been happy with 8th before the season considering the amount of players that we lost last summer, Bothroyd, Chops, Bellamy but to name a few, were key players for us last season and its been hard to find replacements, but what he has done with us on the budget has to be apreciated!

As with regards to Earnie, none of us know the full reason he's not being given a chance, Personally I would give him a run out, Along with Heaton and Darcy at the back, super Kev has been good for us over the years but for me at least he's been a weak link for us so far this season.

Point of the post really is that it seems a lot of the posts on here are very negative, we have to look at the positives and keep the faith, in Malky we trust!
Lets just hope for a new rebuild in the summer, clear out the riff raff and build on what we have left, next year will be our year! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yes, most fans would have been happy with 8th! but when you are 1pt behind second place in January you have to take advantage of that and push on! you don't get many chances like that for promotion! It's easier to work from there by strengthening in January - than it is to start all over again the following season.

Secondly, Malky rebuilt our team last summer and during this season has added players, we got rid of the dead wood, and loaned out other high earners (ie Parkin) Now you're demanding A NEW REBUILD this summer getting shot of even more RIFF RAFF (not sure who you'd include in that category?) So how you can say next year will be our year is kind of odd when we already had a great opportunity in January to push on. in January THIS was our year IMO. Think we may have thrown that all away now.

Next season when team like Bolton, Wolves Wigan Blackburn or who ever come down, will once again have large squads and massive amounts of cash to out do us again. It will be another struggle what ever happens.

So what did you expect the club to do then? Go the same way as last years signings? (Abseloute tosh, JLS, etc?)
All im saying, is that this year, although we had a great start it was never going to last, look at the squads around us, the depth they have, the people they have on the bench, you only have to look at Blackpool and Brighton last night to see the game changers on the bench which sadly we dont have, and the ones we do have arent utilised.

Dont get me wrong, yes more players should have been brought in to bolster our chances this year, but im glad that we arent spending without our means and Malky it seems is looking for the right type of players! :ayatollah:

BTW, No one said anything about DEMANDING anything :old:

Top Post MERLIN. I think Malky took on a big re build and I would have been happy with a mid table finish. However when you get yourself in a great position, i.e 1 point behind second it is time to kick on like ALL of the other clubs around you when it came to the January transfer window. We do not know what the truth is but the club did not strengthen and kick on. The impact of having a small squad is now taking its toll. If you get yourself in a great position then make the most of it rather than starting from the beginning all over again next season.

We may still make the play offs. Lets hope we do. Onwards and upwards. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
