Why have we changed our style of play?

Thu Mar 08, 2012 12:29 pm

First half of the Season we were an attacking team passing the ball really well and getting in the oppositions faces when they had the ball. Now we stand off players giving them loads of time on the ball and they get up to our goal far too easily as we sit so deep. When we do get possesion we most often than not just hoof the ball upfield and 8 times out of 10 lose possesion.
We're like an entirely different team. I just can't for the life of me understand why Malky has changed to these tactics which are just not working. And as for Malky not rotating the team to give some obviously tired and jaded players a rest makes no sense at all, it's not as if we don't have replacements who will do the job for us and probably very well as they'll want to prove themselves after being overlooked for so long. :( :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Lack of depth in the squad/rotation means that the players probably cannot cope with the high energy style that they had at the start of the season. It catches up with you. In fairness to the players they worked their socks off to get us to 3rd in the table. Some re enforcements in the Jan window and a bit more rotation could have helped. We can still make the play offs :ayatollah:
