We've played and lost (not including the cup):
Southampton (1st), Blackpool (5th), Leiceister (11th), Ipswich (15th), West Ham (2nd), Brighton (7th).
Let's be fair, those are tough games, but I agree we should have done better in them. Bearing in mind, it's difficult to say what Leicester team are going to show up on any given day, and Ipswich have been our bogey team for the last 2-3 years.
I think if we've got any chance of making the playoffs, we need to turn it around at Ashton Gate and get an unbeaten run going. Our next 6 fixtures (with last 5 results):
Bristol City (20th) W 1 D 1 L 3
Hull (9th) W 1 D 4 L 0
Burnley (13th) W 1 D 0 L 4
Coventry (22nd) W 2 D 1 L 2
Brum (6th) W 2 D 2 L 1
Millwall (19th) W 2 D 1 L 2
Other than Brum and maybe Hull, there's nothing magnificent there. If we can get 12 points from these games we'd be in an ideal position going into the last 6 games of the season.
I don't see why we aren't resting players. Why are we not starting Darcy, Conway, Kiss, Vuckic, Ralls, Earnie, even Harris, and giving the players who've played all season the chance to rejuvenate as we get into the business end of the season where it's well documented that we tend to struggle. Leave some of the experienced players on the bench to bring on just in case.
Is Malky afraid to drop Kenny because of his wage? May as well start Earnie, he's not going to do any worse than Kenny from a goalscoring perspective.
Anyway just thought I'd share. Would have taken a point at Brighton before the game, but to take the lead twice and still draw is pretty disappointing.
