Super Kev

and I use the term "super" loosely. at fault for both goals. A lot of goals coming from his side lately.

Time he had a spell in the stands.

He's been poor since we started playing Mason on the right.

We need to play Mason but as it is at the moment he's costing us matched because he's not playing in the right position he's leaving Kev far too exposed.

Mason does leave Kev exposed an awful lot, but you can't excuse his distribution which is absolutely dreadful.

The two goals tonight were nothing to do with Mason leaving Kev exposed

I've not seen them so I can't really comment.

But if over the whole night Mason leaves Kev exposed that'll tire him out causing him to make more mistakes.

Just a theory, he may just be in a poor patch of form.

Didnt Mason play just off Miller tonight, with Lawrence on the right?
But yes, majority of goals are coming from the RB position at the moment

i would agree if we had a better option of a right back! mcnaughton is far better than darcy or quinn

agree with polo on this kevin has been playing below par of late i think he needs a rest to recharge his batterys

Here's Barnes' goal

You can see he came straight through Kev there, but it should have been dealt with in the box. Poor goal to concede

I felt Blake earned the shirt after coming on against Palace in the cup, Kev should be dropped I agree!

darcy should be given a go. i dont think he is better than kev, but maybe he needs a rest and a kick up the arse by losing his place to make him better

Re: Super Kev

Theres nothing wrong in giving a player a rest, kevs distribution has always been poor but now his defensive game is not up to his lofty standards unfortunately either.
two games rest and im sure hell be back to his best, give darcy a chance

on current form im sorry but he is not better than them. if players are not playing well they should be dropped to give them a kick up the backside.

I have no qualms putting either blake or quinn in. both very able at this level.

as for shory term memory? more like long term memory in kevs case.

did i say anyone was better than anyone ells [no] i said kevin was playing below par of late and needed a rest imo and if that means giving darcy or quinny a run so be it

Re: Super Kev

Kev has had his worst season with us and I don't think its any coincidence that its because he has concentrated more on an attacking role than his usually excellent defending. I wish Malky would tell him to stay back more and use either Mason or Conway as a winger... Kev can't find a team mate with his passing 99 times out of 100 for all his good approach work and his constant giving away of the ball in forward positions puts us under enormous pressure and unbalances the team as Cowie has then got to track back and his strength is not defending. I just don't understand why their roles are reversed by Malky.
Mc Naughton definitely needs a rest as he doesn't seem 100% fit either with lots of niggling injuries over the season taking their toll. Personally, I think Quinn is even more of a liability who is guaranteed a game changing mistake pretty much every game, so play Darcy at RB for me - certainly for a few games while Mc Naughton gets a rest.

Paul Quinn is a legend in my eyes. Merely for the fact he nearly snapped Scott Sinclair inhalf down at the gypos last season.

imo mcnoughtons form has dipped since conway has been left out they need to play together again :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I do not think he is better than KEV, but perhaps he needs to rest and lose their position, so that he better kick ass.

Thought he was very good against Bristol.

Re: Super Kev

Both MacNaughton and Taylor are struggling defensively at the moment and unfortunately the blame must be laided fairly and squarely with Malky MacKay. His failure to sign a winger and his reluctance to pick Conway has put more pressure on the full-backs to get forward. Consequently we are conceding goals because MacNaughton and Taylor are constantly being caught out of position.
