transfer kitty!

Wed Mar 07, 2012 2:01 pm

if we had £5ml to spend in window as been stated (bids for players)whats wrong in useing some up on loans as surely next season is new budget year! or is £5ml all we got to spend full stop! if so dont see any quality coming in during close season because not enough money available.
i no people say loans is dead money but some speculating is needed to ecumalate (promotion) just confused by what is being said on here and doesnt make sence having funds and not useing some to improve squad in short term, when everyone including (god) knows that is what is needed besides most teams in financial trouble but still managed some deals we got 1 (liam) i dont think we paying for newcastle player anyway just a thought on situation comments welcome!

We don't have money to throw around. Any money used on loans now will be chucked straight on the debt. It's different when you buy players because you're purchasing assets then hhat will hopefully increase in value or at the very least stay the same so you can sell them when you need the money again.

dont mean throw money away., but use some of suppose transfer money to boost squad everyone knows thats what is neeeded and as window came and went with no result so only leaves loans available at this time, dont think we will get anyone as like people stated previously malkie to fussy for loan players, so will have to wait until summmer but then will we have funds then? debt not going away just a confused picture regarding funds i think,

Signing players on perm deals mean they usually have a resale value.

Loans are dead money.

no disputing that, but do we forget signing loans like liam because he has no resale value! but could have promotion value by strenghtening team? as this is what we desperatly need but transfer kitty will be dead money at end season as it will just be used to furnish the debt and wont be added to any transfer pot if such a thing excists! just an oppinion also what if we buy couple players in summer, but need push january do we do same as this season do nothing with the resulting slide, or use loan market if need be! they do say should learn from mistakes

if we signed people in january we would still have had to
pay their wages. no different to paying loan wages.

surely loan money must be built in to budget as loan window is there at beginning of season, so unless you have policy of not getting loan players money must be available weather its dead money is immeterial on that basis!

i said the other day 3 quality loans totalling 50k a week x 10 weeks. Thats only 500k.

We made that on the cup run surely.

thats the point making! we must have budget for such things as loans are used by all clubs we are no exemt from it

Doncaster have a loan system where they take players on low wages and put them in the shop window for other clubs and get a percentage of the fee if a transfer goes through. It's why they get quite a few high profile players on short term loans.

Also that 500k you were on about earlier is the equivalent of two Joe Masons, or two thirds of a Ben Turner. Plus clubs usually demand loan fees.

If there was the equivalent of two joe masons out there then they should have been signed in January.

We need a striker simple as that. If you cant see that you need to go to specsavers.

I'm not arguing with that at all.

Tbh I'm disappointed we didn't get a good target man in in January and I hope we can still get one in on loan but if we don't I just see it as saving money.

I see it as lack of ambition
