A little theory

Right after last season we sacked Dave Jones and got MM on board.
What we have learned from that is that MM had a plan set out when he went to the interview a plan that the owners clearly liked, thus they gave MM the job.
Now lets take a step back, they wanted a new manager because they/we wanted something different, MM is that through and through in comparison to Dave Jones. The owners would have known from the start that MM didn’t intend promotion from the get go, and lets face it we didn’t expect it. We expected an overhaul of our team.
First of all I personally thing that MM had the free signings he targeted for us already in his sites, but those were naturally for Watford.
Now he took over Cardiff with the intention of restructuring and building a new for us, but down to luck or pure skill found us doing a blooming good run in the Carling cup. Anyone that saw MM do an interview at the semi-final or the final saw that the bloke was holding back the tears from both joy in the semi, and sadness in the final. Having seen all the CC games, I personally think he chose that this year, we progressed each round with a never say die team, and they prevailed.
Now lets return to the league part, I personally think/ believe that MM set down a plan to get us promoted, thus laying down a budget which the owners must have agreed to. Yet we found our self in the transfer window not signing any big players…..many people said why???
Well lets give it this tangent of thought, maybe just maybe we were given that 5mil transfer budget for Jan. Yet we did not take it. We know of the reasons that have been said, but could there also be the reasons that MM didn’t want to splash the cash on someone that wasn’t going to fit in and do us any good, thus saving us in a sense, by keeping that money for much more important signings to come next season.

I know it can be hard to take, but maybe just maybe MM has a deeper plan, a plan that see’s our club reduce our debt buy getting the young ones cheap and making them the players they were born to be, and using that saved money over time to take us up the top!

I know I could be talking out of my arse but I thought I would share.

They kept Malky in the dark for 3 days and ignored him, whilst they begged Shearer who then said yes then said no, then they had to go cap in hand back to Malky.

I back Malky 100% this season.

I thought I would suggest an idea that hasn't been suggested so far by us fans. Lets be frank, it very rare that a new manger performs miracles from the get go and lasts all season.

I believe Malky has done a superb job with the the players he has at present. I do believe he is building for the future and yes you have written a good post.

Most sensible post ive read in ages Although i think they wanted shearer before malky but everyone makes mistakes..

I think your theory is spot on..
100% faith in Malky, and I do believe he has a "plan", which will take time.. he never promised premier league this year, that was/is just purely hope but certainly not an expectation...
I think the guy will do City the world of good, I never ever get the feeling he's just "blagging it"..

I forgot I wrote this! Mainly because I had just come in from the pub, but glad it had a good response.

MM took on a difficult job rebuilding a broken up team on a low, rebuilding behind the scenes in terms of scouting, medical facilities etc. Gave us a Carling Cup final, a passionate appreciative team and importantly DIDN'T PANIC buy and throw money away in January when his true targets were no longer available.

I applaud him, the board and Cardiff City FC.

We should be patient and trust.

Sometimes i can see where DJ was coming from with our fan bases expectations.
