Heaton could land dream Tottenham move

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Tom Heaton, Fans FC can reveal.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper is currently plying his trade in the Championship with Cardiff City, where his contract is set to expire in the summer.

Heaton, 25, won a number of admirers following his performance in the Carling Cup final defeat to Liverpool, and Fans FC can reveal Spurs are amongst this number.

Whilst Brad Friedel has been in great form this season, at 40 he is approaching the end of his career, and the White Hart Lane club want to add to their options.

Heaton would likely be targeted in the first instance as someone to provide cover for the experienced American, with the view to eventually challenging for the number one spot.

Problem being Heaton wants to wear the No.1 Jersey so he will go where he can play regularly instead stuck on the bench.

Not surprised, Tom Heaton is an excellent goalkeeper. Better than Marshall. Certainly too good to be on the bench at a Championship club. Presumably one of them will leave at the end of the season. That's why we bought Parish from the Villa.

If we are getting rid of any goalkeeper in the summer it should be Marshall, Heaton should be our number 1
