car park mugs.....

Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:12 pm

I got to admit to being one of these....
Paid £130 for the perk of parking at the stadium ,thinking it was a good idea!!!!

Then i did the maths
23x£5=115............dumb arse £15 worse off

Didn't realise it was only a fiver to park on match day thought it was 7 or8 quid.!!!!
someone tell me what do we get for the extra £15
doesn't even guarrantee a parking space if you turn up late .
Feel a bit mugged off by the club i love.
Will be parking elsewhere next season for free .

had plenty of those fines, just ignore them as they are unenforceable, not even fines they are invoices. They go away after a few letters. only people you have to pay fines to are police or council, private car park firms are a joke.

Perhaps I am a mug, but personally don't begrudge paying the £130. There are usually four of us, and we can park in block A, just a short walk from gate 3. My dad is 83, and can not walk too far. Saves crossing from the athletics stadium. Usually get there about an hour before kick off, so never had a problem parking. Parked for all the Carling Cup games as well, with no extra charge.

That aint bad if you all cough up. But if its just one or two then its fooking expensive :ayatollah:

I understand that good point but.....
What happens if theres no space for you?
Everyone who has paidfor a carpark season ticket should have a dedicated space.

Us who have got season tickets would be pissed if we went to our seats and some wanker was sat in it.
the truth is they aint got a clue how many car spaces are available ,hence cars parked everywhere.

Lord Raglan how long does it take to get out of the car park ? always looks grid locked with cars everywhere :? I miss the old days with small crowds you could park your car anywhere with reason near the ground. Since crowds have gone up i train it down as polava with no parking zones and fines being dished out

I've always parked in canton, it's ideal.

Knew someone who used to park at the stadium and then walk to canton for a drink

With four in a car it's just £1.25 each. And they do cough up

When I bought the parking permit though, I did expect a guranteed space, but apparently not so ! As we usually get there quite early, it has not been a problem. Got there a bit later for the Reading game on 2nd January, and had to park behind the Ninian Stand, but it was not much further.

This is my first season with a permit. Had to wait until 1st July to buy, as previous holders had until then to renew. Apparently, that's the case every year. Previously parked in the athletics stadium for £5, or Bessemer Road, for free. But both a bit further away.

Can be a bit of a gridlock getting out, but again, we usually call in the club shop and the supporters club after the game, so it has eased up a bit by the time we leave.
