A forum for all things Cardiff City

Sunday - Plays 120 minutes at Wembley, works his socks off in a 2-2 draw, sets up the first goal and then steps up to take the first penalty.
Monday - Travels to meet up with the Scotland squad
Tuesday - Training with the Scotland squad in Slovakia
Wednesday - Plays the last 10 minutes in an International match vs Slovakia
Thursday - Returns home
Friday - Training with Cardiff City
Saturday - Pre match preperations
Sunday - Plays from the start against 2nd in the table West Ham (And once again runs his socks off)
Tell me that it doesn't sound like a mentally tiring week, never mind physical.
A bit of perspective here eh? At least the guy is putting himself forward for every game, personally I don't think he should've travelled with Scotland but I'm also guessing he was given some choice in it. Here is a player who gives 100% to every club I have known him to play for, if you lot don't want him then I'm sure someone else with bite your hand off for a player with that sort of commitment. Get the ball to him a bit sharper instead of playing it in the air and you might see better results.

Well said. Most city fans appreciate miller, just some who sadly don't.

Excellent post, I don't know why everyone is having a go at Miller today. Hoofing the ball up to him to battle against 6'4 Abdollaye Faye was a thankless task. Miller wasn't the problem today, it was the players behind him. Like you say, get the ball to his feet, he started very brightly creating a few chances for Rudy when he got the ball deep, but when he took up the lone striker role today, the ball kept getting hoofed up to him.

yep spot on from an excellent poster
the slating of miller is shameful, not only keyboard warriors there was plenty of people in the stadium around me doing it aswell

I like Miller and think that he works incredibly hard during the game but the fact remains he is our main striker and needs to contribute more goals.
You could also have said-
Last Sunday - blasts over an early decent chance, misses a chance at the end of normal time that would probably have won us the cup and then misses a penalty for the second cup tie in a row.
Today - snatches at a chance and blasts over in the second half, heads straight at the goalie at the end of the game when a foot either side would have been a goal.
As I said, I like Kenny but cannot escape the feeling that he is low on confidence at the moment and seems to need about 10 chances to score a goal. When the goals from midfield (Cowie especially) have dried up we need more of a goal threat from our main striker in addition to the other good work he undoubtedly provides.

A lot worse players on show today than miller.

Sod it.....Millers lack of scoring is going to cost us dearly this season. it has already cost us a cup.

Needs to start scoring goals again

Good post from scotsjack. Miller is class but sadly not fully appreciated by some of our fans. Thankfully though the majority of us can see his allround game in a very tough role within the team.

Miller has not hit the back of the net recently although I was at Leicester when he did finish off a chance very well which was unluckily ruled off side.
He never stops running. I think if he had a bit more support in attack and we had a bit of extra creativity within the team Miller would be scoring 20 goals plus per season. Cannot fault his commitment.

OK, he has had a hard week but he is getting paid thousands a week to score goals for Cardiff something he has not done in approx 9 games (correct me if I am wrong). He is employed as our main striker regardless of his size he has had a number of sitters over the past few weeks and has not converted any of them, namely the last minute chance in the carling cup final. In my opinion he is not achieving his targets. There are two possible issues here:
1) He is to small to be playing as a lone striker and if that is the case MM has to act fast in getting another striker in or start playing another out and out striker to help him out.
2) He is an overrated journey man!

Good post, scotsjack. Agree totally

People forget we are very slow on attack and Kenny is a fan of quick attacking.
Look at his goal vs Blackburn Carling Cup, Reading, Southampton!

The bottom line is, Miller is not scoring!! Whether it is Millers problem or MM is playing the wrong formation it needs sorting out now before it is too late.
