A forum for all things Cardiff City

This is a building season nothing less nothing more and carling cup was a bonus, Malky has always been quick
To point out we are building a squad, he never felt promotion was possible as our squad isn't deep enough yet and the balance isn't quite right, this has been evident from day one, quite frankly I feel let down by some fans on here who are so quick to slate the manager and players who quite frankly have been remarkable this year given we don't really have any wide men not enough quality up front and a lack of packing he squad, Mackay is working on this and i have no doubt in my mind that our squad will look better come next season than it does now, I am glad he hasn't made knee jerk loan signings and permanent ones as
Other managers have done in the past and have been slated for it, they seems damned if they do and damned if thu don't wit our fans! We should be supporting the lads win lose or draw and whatever 11 on the
Pitch and 5 on the bench are selected, we
Can still finish in the playoffs with a run of results which we have produced his season so be positive lads!! People will say thu have a right to an opinion but why send negative crap constantly through the message boards?? Players read this stuff as d
Management so I don't see whats to gain from it at all, my logic is if earnie is training hard playing well then he hold get game time but if he isn't then he shouldn't whatever happens I trust mackays judgement and won't be as quick as
You lot to ask for his head on a plate, fact is he has transformed this club from top to
Bottom and more ome and patience and he will deliver, the Malaysians and directprs believe in him so should we!!! In Cardiff I trust!!!

Excuse me if I am wrong but who is calling for Malky's head.
As far as a rebuilding season goes I have been vocal in my opinion that this team will finish 10th, this is not a new thing but something I predicted back in August and continued with since but in November I remember post 'FAO CARL' etc asking do I still think we will finish 10th ? and my answer then was YES.
I along with many others have remained consistent with our predictions for the season so it is unfair to say this board is being negative when the prominent posters have always predicted us slipping away toward the end of the season but no matter what we will support Malky Mackay.

Carl i dont think his post was aimed at you. i rarely see you on here after games whether we win or lose, but the fact remains that everytime we lose there are a barrage of posts (usually from the same posters) calling us shit etc

I am just fed up of this board being marginalised into an anti-trust, anti-Malaysian, pro-Sam, anti-Gethin, anti-Dave Jones etc
We are all different and on many issues we agree, it is a message board.

Correct Carlos and we should all be able to comment/debate on what we want, yet if I have an opinion, I am talking about Sam or I am anti Malaysians

I wouldnt say this forum is negative, in general our fans are though. The moaning ive read on message boards the past 10 years or however long ive had internet always amazed me as they have been amazing, I still pinch myself and think wow we are in the championship, wow ive been to wembley 4 times wow ive seen players like Earnie, Bellamy, Fowler, Hasselbaink, Koumas etc etc
As for managers well you will never please everyone, no matter who is in charge if we lose a game it will be because they have no plan B.
People didnt like DJ because he was stubborn but for me all managers are, MM is the same.
They wanted a manager who could build and would play young players, now they demand loans that would push these young players out the squad.
They didnt want loans because come the end of the season they dont have that passion for the final push - now they want loans for the final push.
They wanted a team to be proud of, work horses that gave everything for the shirt - now they want quality and some flair. they hated Jay and Chops because they were arrogant and lazy, now they hate Miller because he works hard but doesnt score enough. Its a shame we cant sign a striker who scores for fun and works his socks off but they are rare, very rare and would be playing in the prem.
We want more players but reduced debt
Summary - our fans dont know what they want

Carl this topic was in no way a dig at you personally, not sure how u summised this, I
Just personally feel all the negative posts from others consistently do nothing for anyone but damage morale, I come off here sometimes really down after reading some of the comPlete tripe posted by some who are clearly deluded, perhaps the success of recent years has gone to some fans heads!! However win lose or draw championship or league 2 I'll back the city all the way! I think some fans should look at Pompey right now and how fantastic there supporters are as I remember a time not so long ago when we made noise like that and I really enjoyed following the city sadly it just doesn't feel the same at present, we should count are blessings and help the lads push on as one united until the end of the season and beyond!!!

what success would that be?,have we been promoted recently?,won any silverware?,what in your opinion is success?,I certainly don't go to a game thinking we will lose, every sport I play I want to win and every sportsman or team I follow I want them to win and when I go to City which I have done since 1977 I want to win and be successful, nice guys always finish last,we are in a results based industry and right now we ain't winning,I bet you didn't say to your friends "I will take a 2-0 loss today" did you?,wake up buddy,we are disappointed because we care and this is a place where we can voice our opinions,Today I am gutted and hurting because I care and want to win.

Good post dazza ,but anything other than its all good after playing shit the whole game or whatever other post that does not say even the smallest bit of good in it when the truth is it was bad really, people deem this to be negative and thats why i ignore all the "go support someone else" people just for saying simple things
Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:25 am
whos asking for malkys head on a plate?
dress it up how you want with this 'season if rebuilding' crap we were in a fantastic position and whilst everyone around us strengthened we did nothing apart from a few joking bids with little time left on the clock.
No surprise everyonelse kicked on and weve dropped quicker than audley harrison.

The definition of success depends on who you support. for teams like hereford and rochdale success would be keeping football league status, for man utd it would be winning the champions league.
I suggest to you that appearing in two major cup finals with club the size of cardiff city is definitely a success.
Once again i reiterate, we are not a big club, we have no divine right to be in the premier league. Unless some of you stop living in a fantasy world you will never be happy following cardiff city!
Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:08 pm
I agree with what you are saying but I believe some people get negativity and disappointment mixed up.Fans have the right to want their team in the premier league regardless of the size of the club, teams like Wigan,Stoke,Fulham even Swindon and Oldham managed it and I am sure every City fan feel we can do it after years of coming so close.so when we lose it hurts and people come on here to say their piece because they care,I don't believe fans are deluded just passionate.
What makes a club a big club?

Humble another sensible post by you, I believe the same as you, just cos we haven't won anything doesn't mean we are unsuccessful, we have been to wembley more times in recent years than some lower league teams ever will and it has been a pleasure to follow city over the last 15 years from the doldrums of old division 3 to four great wembley outings!! Win or lose I follow city, and obviously I hurt when we lose however I am a realist and I understand that Rome wasn't built in a day new team new manager and top half of the league, would have taken that this season! Yes we could have strengthened but we needed four or five players and with our finances not possible, I watched the four year plan yesterday and even they at the hands of billionaires refused to spend more than they could afford so I would rather see us build personally over a few years and achieve promotion possibly they way than panic buy in January and still not achieve promotin, I don't want us to be the next Pompey especially seeing as we have more debt than they do, opinions are fine but constant slagging by certain posters is annoying and becoming a bore!
Mon Mar 05, 2012 7:25 pm
i remember carl saying he thought you,d finish 10th.as an outsider after all the turnmoil in the summer i,d say 10th to p/offs is a very good return.the cup final was a bonus.my club blues are doing as well as could be hoped for after an even madder summer than yours.i had faith we,d reach the p/o (i posted this after you beat us in dec to nedd).again like you lads i think if a bit more cash was available we would be top two.the facts are if we spent more money then its money we havn,t got.some applies to you.i think if both our clubs and in particular cardiff had rubbed along in 10th then pushed for the p/o then we,d be over the moon.the fact is ccfc have been top 6 all season and blues have had 9 and 15 game unbeaten runs.hopes soars.hope becomes exspectation and that turns into demands.its only natural but to see how far you,ve come you have to judge it by where you,ve come from.all in all i think you have done very well.it don,t help you that swansea are doing well as the rush to get to the prem becomes greater as you see your rivals in the supposed promised land.if the jacks were in league 1 would there be so much rush for the prem in what really is a rebuilding season?alex furguson took years to get man utd anywhere near right.even he,d have struggled with what m.m and hughton have had to deal with and no cash.this board is no where near as bad for hissy fitting as some i read.keep the faith ladies and gents.end of the day everyone has an opinion.
Mon Mar 05, 2012 7:35 pm
The problem is we all expected nothing, and then what does Malky go and do!!
As a result everyone has got excited and thought it can happen, this could be our season!!
Wednesday could be our night to rejuvenate our season!!
I'm hoping for better than 10th but at least we are still in business and will at the least be in the Championship next season!
And in all fairness, the Championship is generally a cracking league to be in! (except it won't pay our debts)
Mon Mar 05, 2012 7:36 pm
Why cnt people be negative its just a difference of opinion, I can be negative and so what? I've said from the season is be delighted with 10th or 12th and I stand by that but the way season has gone why.can't the negative be dissapionted with way we are slipping down the table? Nobody can critize players without having people having ago for it, is rather be negative and be positive al the time

Dazzy i don't mind people being disappointed when we lose (who isn't)!
The way i see it the people on this board can be split into categories. There are people who are willing to give malky more time and refuse to criticise the team this season no matter what. (i like to think i'm in this category) There are those who come home after a defeat and like to show their disappointment after a defeat but then the dust settles they calm down and they're behind malky and the players again.
Thirdly there are those who just want to call the team shit after every performance. they would rather be proved right even if it meant cardiff city went bust or got relegated. This is the category of people that piss me off! i wouldn't even mind if they were jacks but when they claim to love cardiff city it begins to grate on me
Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:38 pm
Fair comment Gringo,I personally have never slated a player,Malky or the team and never will,I believe Malky is the right man even though some of his tactical decisions and treatment of certain players sometimes baffle me.I feel now the Carling cup venture is over we will see a different team and I believe we will be in the play offs,I think we have the team to do it so no negative vibes from me as long as he gives Miller a break and give Earnie a run out from the bench when we need a late goal.
