Strikers

Sun Mar 04, 2012 3:42 pm

The club have been crying out for another striker since the start of the season.

Earnie has not been given a chance and Rudy is not ready to lead a championship attack. We also needed a wide player but the lack of another striker is now taking its toll. We had the opportunity in the transfer window to strengthen and again in the loan period. Other clubs around us Reading, Blackpool, Boro, West Ham, Southampton have all brought in new faces.

It's no good saying that we tried to bring a couple of players in at the last minute, Sordell & Noone. If we were that interested we would have got at least one of them prior to the last minute rush. MM seems to prefer 4-5-1 but even at the moment Kenny seems to be running on empty. Where is the competition and alternative to lead the attack. The obvious has caught up with us.

It is a period of re building but when you get to third in the table a bit of strengthening may have just propelled us into the top Division. Lets hope we can put a run together and get into the play offs. :ayatollah:

I'd say the problem is more the lack of support for our strikers. Earlier in the season, Conway and Cowie were getting there, Whitts and Gunnarsson were able to supprt centrally.

Now we're just not doing that, and playing the direct ball into the air for Miller, which isn't going to work.

Miller has had his chances but failed to put them away. That must be killing the ocnfidence in our guys who supply him the chances.
