Should I Have Left Cardiff

Sat Mar 03, 2012 2:24 pm

after finishing 3rd in the Championship and getting to a FA Cup Final ?

That's the question DJ asked during an interview for his new role at Sheffield Wednesday.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,12040_7564793,0.html

Well let's look at your statement after the FA Cup Final Dave, you said and I quote "If we don't push on from here we will need shooting" .

Well Dave we didn't push on and in my opinion you deserved to get sacked. No doubt about it for me.

By the way classy touch Dave when you asked Mandaric to "Make the change and then we will talk". Very classy Dave suggesting sacking another manager. Very classy.

I feel sorry for Wednesday Fans. They have got hold of a right bottler

Try not to think about thus guy. Now I know why.

The guy is just a talking disaster. Well I will say he has got up the backs of quite a few already. Megson was popular at Hillsborough, just won the most important game of their season and Jones admits to saying make the change. Add to all this he lied about leaving us, he got the sack and had no choice in the matter.

Surely even the pro Jones should see through him for what he is.

Not sure what you expect him to say? Obviously he would want the job. A lot of managers would have negotiated when they already had a manager

Well for me saying nothing would have been better than saying make the change and then we will talk.

But maybe it's just me. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Say nothing and he certainly isnt going to come back and offer you a job.
If anything I would say it shows how respectful DJ is for not negotiating when they already had a manager but thats me.

I agree Jones admitting he was speaking to MM about the job last week and saying he was interested in the job while Megson was still the manager tels me exactly what the man is, dishonourable and sly, stabbing a fellow Manager in the back like that. The LMA should do something about it. #19 Handsworth - We should still make the play offs. If we now have a bad run of results even Jones surely can't f*** up that badly, can he! Anyway even if we do make the play offs I wouldn't fancy our chances now.

That's a flavour for how many Wednesday fans feel about the comments by DJ during the press conference. Megson was a popular manager with both the fans and the press with many commenting on the dignity he has shown whilst in the job and since he was sacked.

Having watched the press conference DJ already has a problem with the press for the arrogent manner in which he talked about "Make the change".

Same old same old from the idiot if you ask me. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: Should I Have Left Cardiff

Yes they are upset at Megson leaving and they wouldnt have liked the way MM has handled it. MM should never have called him but it seems to happen very frequently in football. Most recently would be Hughes at QPR.

Im pretty certain speaking to a chairman and basically telling them they dont want to talk while they have a manager is against any sort of rules   in fact I think the LMA might praise him for not talking to the club about the job while they have a manager.

Comes over to me that Jones is rubbing it in. He should have said but then again we are talking about an arrogant individual who thinks the world owes him a favour.

Stupidly honest, I think your right. He would have been better to have said nothing but clearly he was being pushed for an answer. Certainly dont think he has done anything wrong. MM on the other hand is a very sly person, nothing would surprise me about him.

Luke My friend, Dave Jones problem was that he had no care for our fans or club and he said a lot of foolish statements publicly and behind the scenes which upset a lot of people. So many were happy to see the back of him it was unbelievable including in the Club.

I totally agree with you Annis, he made to many enemies at the end of the day and he had to be replaced.

Annis I just listened to his first interview with BBC Radio Sheffield and he has just said to the interviewer "Going by your behaviour in the press conference I think I must of walked into a hell hole". The question is how long before he bans BBC Radio Sheffield from his press conferences.

I think someone should buy this idiot a copy of How To Win Friends And Influence People. I wouldn't want to inflict this idiot onto my worst enemy his ego and arrogence are quite frankly unbelievable.

"Going by your behaviour in the press conference I think I must of walked into a hell hole...(DJ & interviewer both laugh) then DJ says "no"... and talks about the club"

Leaving out the laugh and the word "no" changed the entire sentence IMO.

One thing I know and that is DJ doesn't do humour. Look you thnk he is a top bloke and I think he is and always will be an arsehole.

It's all about opinions but on this occasion I'm right. Trust me. ;)

Re: Should I Have Left Cardiff

Sat Mar 03, 2012 5:20 pm

I dont even think that highly of him I just dont like people twisting things to prove a point. A laugh at the end of a comment can change a sentence massively.

When he joined City he was a very funny guy, very witty, very dry but funny, I remember they had a charity Q&A at the Marriott hotel when he took over (I think Sam was part of it as well).
DJ had everyone in stitches, then overtime his words got twisted and twisted just like you did above and in the end he became arrogant and twisted and never wanted to deal with the media.

Forget the politics, but from what i gather, DJ is in a very similar situation now to that when he was when he took over at City in 2005, in as much as, he has been out of a job for a good while & now he's being employed by a very volatile & ruthless chairman. SW are currently in the play off frame, he has got to "get" promotion to the Championship or else? Time will tell!

0-0 away to Rochdale in 23rd - not a great start.

I wouldnt think so as he got a 3 1/2 year deal.

So did half a dozen Leicester City managers when Mandaric was in charge!

Obviously in your opinion I'm a twisted guy which is at best patronising and at worst downright insulting. I'm not a twisted person but that's your opinion and your entitled to it.

Mine is DJ has been an arsehole in the past, he is one now and will be in the future.

With only 12 games to go surely even MM isnt that harsh, these arent even DJ's players. Maybe your right though but DJ wont care as it will be a good pay out.

Exactly, & that's the relevant point i was making,,,i'm surprised DJ & Co didn't even squeeze a rolling contract out of MM!

Re: Should I Have Left Cardiff

Well usually a rolling contract is one year so if he was sacked at the end of this season he would only be entitled to a years pay.

As it stands they would owe him all 3 years pay if he was sacked

Well it's the case with DJ and other managers like Martin oneil when he was at Celtic. I've not heard of a Rolling contract longer than a year but that's not to say it couldn't happen I guess.

If a manager is sacked before the end of his contract and no escape clauses they are entitled to the money they are owed.
