With Pompey's situation, Rangers, Brum's transfer embargo, and now Cov's transfer embargo. It wasnt long ago that we were under an embargo and PR fucked us and we had to demonstrate because of it, and now that £12million loss. Something needs to be done about money involved in football.
I can only think of 2 solutions to start off with;
Every club involved in the English or Scottish football pyramid system should introduce a 10% wage reduction on all players. Think of all the £££'s clubs would save.
Price tags on footballers should also be reduced. With some players costing up to £50million now, and a lot of 2nd tier players costing a few million, agents/clubs need to reduce these if they are to lower their debts.
These would only be to start off but should increase to e.g 20% wage reduction in the near future.

I am worried for football, wages have to be now capped/new owners have to be vented better etc etc, just the start in my opinion.

Something should have been done ages ago.
Savage made a good point on the BBC, about to many average players being on big wages and then being stuck at clubs.
We have had that for many years having players who where no where near the first team and we couldnt get rid of them because no one wanted to pay the wage.
People in charge of clubs need to be more sensible, it wont be appreciated by fans as we all like new players and big names etc etc but they need to be stronger for the good of the game.

unfortunately money talks so it will be very hard to keep greedy buisnessmen and downright crooks out of football.Also imagine if the likes of tevez,rooney and john terry were asked to take a pay cut for the good of the game.
very worrying times indeed,some fans need to realise that we just are not in a position to splash out millions for a gamble on promotion

Your probably right about a salary cap Annis but if this country were to adopt this unilateraly the top players would leave in.. their droves for europe.The thing I've always thought though is that if they made it law that all football clubs could not operate as limited companies but instead made owners directly liable for all debts I think you would soon see a big change in the way football clubs are run.Also I would like to see transfer fees paid up front in full-in other words stop the buy now pay later mentality.Just a couple of thoughts

It's far too late for salary caps. As soon as the clubs caught wind of the idea they'd form a breakaway league and then they could do literally anything.

They would find ways around a cap anyway IMO
