Quick Question (Squad value)

Out of interest, what would you say is the current value of the squad as it stands today? Also someone mentioned saleable assets, whatever they are, but how much are they currently worth? Just a rough idea like would do. Someone I work with asked me this earlier and I didn't really know, so anyone who can do a quick head count, come back with an answer.

In 12 months MM must have added around 13m of assets by spending just a minimal amount and with a reduced wage bill.

After last Sunday I've been wondering what Ben Turner is worth. A pretty penny would be my guess.

But your right MM has developed a squad worth millions in just a few short months.

Put it this way, other than one or two if any of the first team were sold for the values I have estimated then I would be dissapointed

Gunnarsson, Mason and Blake only worth a combined 1m someone will have a bargain

Just a bit of fun I know but to start the process I would say there are a few players in the squad who are worth nothing at this time either because their contracts are up in the summer or in the case of Parkin no one will pay money for him (Mind you DJ might).

Heaton, Marshall, Naylor, Parkin, Wildig and maybe even Earnie given what has been a disaster of a season for him are worthless as far as I'm concerned.

Then we have a number of young players like Gestede, Mason, Ralls, Harris, Alex Evans, Ibby Farah and Parish all of whom have good potential with Mason currently being the best. It wouldn't surprise me if the combined value of these youngsters was £2m with Mason being at least half of that.

Then you have players like Quinn, Gerrard, Keinan, Blake and McPhail who are on longer contracts and that gives them an extra value, certainly more than a player whose contract runs out in the summer. But all togther I think we would be doing really well to get between £1- £1.5m combined for those.

Then of what I would describe as our more 1st choice players on long contracts I would say their value would be;

Kiss £1m and rising (When he signs)

So maybe I'm in dreamland but I think the squad could be worth as much as £18m.

Also with MM just having signed a new longterm contract if a Premier League club, or maybe Celtic, came sniffing how much compensation do you think we would get. The Jacks got £2m when Saint Bob of Martinez jumped ship for Wigan.

For me MM would be worth that so total value is £20m for me.
