Yes, we should all support them, they are a fellow football club and Pompey have always reminded me of us through the years.

Very sad, if what I have been reading lately is correct, there is nearly no way back for them.

If their results are scrubbed I guess us and WHU lose out the most - 4 points us, 6 Hammers...

Great rivals of ours at various times over the years. I'd be gutted to see Portsmouth go.
I don't understand how their fall from grace has been so sudden after winning the F A Cup in 2008. For me, it's not about the 4 points we'll lose, if they go, it's about losing a great old club.
Good luck, Pompey. Fix your clock and let's play again in the future!

Done, and good luck to Portsmouth.
Sadly, it seems only a matter of time that a big club sets this precedent, I worry though that once one goes a few others will follow.

Gary and if this happens, football should finally take hold of the game and cap wages and check out new owners even more than they have in the past, something has to be done, because if Pompey fall, I sadly feel many will fall after them.

Spot on Annis, I have a very good friend that supports Pompey and he is devastated at what is happening, he is similar to us in the way that he goes everywhere with Portsmouth and like you said in a comment above, Pompey do remind me of us and it will be a sad day if they do go out of existence. Sadly, greedy people have ruined the beautiful game and they should take a long hard look at themselves.

By the way, I have signed the petition and shared it on Facebook.

. It is sad to see a club like portsmouth on the brink of closure. I hope there is a rescue plan for them. Always a good team to play against

I was thinking along the same lines, i.e. capping wages - has FIFA ever indicated that they might have the will to do that?

Obviously Liam Lawrence saw this and thought what a great idea !!
I hope the parallels with Kav joining Wigan when we had to sell mean we will go up as Wigan did that season

From facebook
Lewis Rideout its nice to see the mutual respect between my beloved portsmouth and our welsh blue bird brothers. from going toe to toe over the years in each others back yards to sharing past memories with a beer, we appreciate your support for us. hats off to you and your boys.

So, given Pompey went into admin, took the points hit, came out with a CVA, failed to pay the CVA as required, going into admin a second time, whilst giving out big contracts to Kitson et al, what precisely is the point of a petition wanting leniency?
If this was Swansea we were talking about, everyone would want them tarred and feathered.
Pompey as a club cynically and deliberately cheated the system. Sure, it's sad for the fans, but if you let a club off punishment due to that, it opens a massive precedent.
Loyal Pompey fans should get a FC Pompey created and follow that, run it properly.
Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:51 pm
Done, I just hope fans of other teams show us the same support if we are ever on the brink of going bust! I doubt it though!

I'll sign f**k all. Top old club. Hope they don't go under but mandric the crook and twitchy faced rednapp conned us out of the fa cup by playing players they couldn't afford. As Brian Clough said on his first day in charge at of Leeds." Throw them medals you got in the bin cause you got em by f*cking cheating.
Fri Mar 02, 2012 11:20 pm
Done.
This is madness, football is out of control and the only winners are the players and agents, who needs all that money to live on,the players need to stand up and realize if high wages remain there will be no football clubs left for them to play for and they will have to get a real job like us paying fans, sort it out before it's too late.
