Important points ..

Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith will lead the Scotland attack in Wednesday's friendly against Slovenia.
The 28-year-old replaces Cardiff's Kenny Miller, who is being rested after his extra time exertions in Sunday's Carling Cup final defeat to Liverpool.

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay had voiced his concerns to Levein and later told BBC Scotland that he hoped Miller would be used sparingly against Slovenia.

Midfield duo Charlie Adam and Don Cowie also played for 120 minutes in the Carling Cup final but it was not revealed if they were being rested as the squad departed from Glasgow Airport.

"Kenny will be on the bench but the manager has named a team that will be very, very competitive from the first whistle," said coach Ian Black.

"Kenny is desperate to play but you saw the game on Sunday, the cup final, and we just felt it would be better having Kenny as back-up."
