Sleeping Giant - One eye open?

Tue Feb 28, 2012 5:23 pm

A lot of us believe that we truly are a sleeping giant :naka:
The potential of this club with regards to facilities and Catchment area is huge

After the feedback i've had this week, the giant is slowly waking (in my opinion)

All Liverpool plastics i've spoken to all said they wouldn't have minded if we'd won...
I've spoke to Football haters (generally just Rugby fans) and they admitted it was enthralling and were hooked on the game.
Fans of other clubs are finally given us respect, maybe the tide has turned in that respect...

we have so many 'fringe' fans who come to a few games a year, maybe they will start turning up week in, week out.

The game was beemed around the world in 150 Countries, great advertising for us in which we rubbed shoulders with top, top players and sent the Scousers home with something to think about

All we need is Premier League Football and the other eye will open
I'm not convinced we will go up this season but hopefully, with some serious investment in the Summer, we can do the job next year

Talking about filling stadiums, I thought I'de read previously that all home games at your rental pad this season were sell outs, and thousands of potential ST holders waiting in the wings  ?

Yet, saw on SSN earlier that Jacks home game against the wealthiest team in the World and current Premiership leaders is sold out, why would you need to announce this if they were all sell outs?

Oh, but I would, even if you had a sellout every home game (which you haven't), you still wouldn't have as many as the "home" fans at our own ground. Quite remarkable for a Championship side, but then perhaps not? Maybe that's the reason why the Wigan of Wales's fans are so infatuated with us? ;)

You go on about us not selling out our home games yet when you were in this division your average crowd was around 14500. Now compare that to our 22000 or so average... You will never be as well supported as us EVER. Just learn to accept it :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I have to say, what a beautifully crafted headline that would have been for a paper after the weekend. "Sleeping Giant Opens One Eye as Cardiff Hold European Giants in Cup Final" or something along those lines.

I am a firm believer that sleeping giants don't exist. You are either there or you're not. Anyone can claim to be a sleeping giant. Until you make it and prove it, there's nothing can be done.

I believe this club can be great though and the potential is huge. How big can we be? It's hard to tell. Only time will give us that answer.

because you played better in which cup final? yes we dug in and battled, liverpool we were playing not f*cking hartlepool.. Their left back is worth more than our whole team.. To take liverpool to penaltys in a cup final is massive for a championship club.. Seen as weeks before the same teaM HAD BEATEN BOTH manchester clubs.. I yawn at your biased opinions because the jacks are the only people that wouldnt agree how well we played sunday and even though we lost we can be proud

you can talk you had one good day last season thats it! bet you would love to be in cup final dont say you dont as all footy fans
want to see there team in cup final, and what do you know about tickets to pool fans / only what you read on here well sad if thats what you do believe what other people say! this is ccfc site you have your own

tell me something? what have you achieved promotion! great u get to play six good teams twice, 13 average to bad teams twice! thats it, exposure on tv but you havnt done anything to get people to watch you you pass til cows come home but shoot at goal once twice a game generally so very exciting for you! what will you look back on next year? beat stoke ect played man utd so what! dont tell me you wouldnt have wanted to be where we were on sunday?? innstead of stoke! or 2008 fa cup final we might not have won but we were there when we look back in ten yrs or so we have memory of playing in two cup finals you playing in premier league playing mostly average sides who are no better than half champ sides, i know what i prefer, and as for bigger a club! who has bigger stadium/ biger crowds, more season tickets/ bigger catchment area? thats what bigger means generally, premiership is like any other league more exposure but same as div 1/2 just a league of footy teams, like i said prefer to say i saw my team in cup finals as only select thew get to say that, and to do so twice well may never happen again, so dont think you are great because you are in premier as its only a league, next season you will get bored playing average teams that are there will we get there who knows but will still be watching my team as really dont care what your team does why should i?? same as premier not there so doesnt concern me what happens or who wins it.

Swansea never get capacity crowds ..... sooo sad for a prem team , but i guess it;s their style of play that deters people from going ?

Now that they have done Wembley I seriously doubt they'd send more than a few thou for a Cup Final , tho we're never gonna find out
