Darcy Blake

It is something that has been on my mind for a while now and that is, is it worth a try in giving Darcy a run in mid -field, I know his distribution is suspect at times but he could be the enforcer we need in mid-field, break up attacks, win the ball feed it to whitts o r gunnerson. it seems to me we are lacking the ball winner in that position, how many times are we by passed in that area, it may be a daft suggestion in some quarters, but is it worth a try.

his sense of positioning is not up to it either. Who would he replace?

Not for me, seen him a few times in midfield but just not good enough, his distribution is just way to poor for midfield. I dont think he is good enough for a perm RB either. I think his position is CB but to push his way into that position he would have to change clubs to a lower champ or maybe league one for a while. He is perfect for the bench though or to fit into a position for a few games when we have injuries.

Blake is the perfect squad player. Not good enough for a start I'm afraid, his passing is so poor would easily outweigh his tacking strength in midfield would win it back and give it away would be well annoying!

If we were 1-0 up in a very close game and just trying to hold on for the last 3-4 minutes, shove him in defensive midfield, just infront of the CB's.
Although if any CB's get injured he is my next choice over Gerrard

Gunnarsson does that job perfectly and when he pushes forward, Whitts can jump in front of the back four

I'm a believer that the man in front of the back four should be a technically good player as all attacks should start at this point

nar maybe if last resort, he could do a job there but would need to train on the position first but no, not yet
