Seriously?!!

Tue Feb 28, 2012 12:20 am

Could not believe what I had heard on the train back from Wembley to pick up the car. I'll quote this to the specific words used in a conversation between two city fans. What's your take on this?

Fan 1 "Not sure about why Earnshaw didn't start or hasn't been getting a look in lately"

Fan 2 "Well I hear a lot of things that go on with the club. I mean a lot. I got told by an insider that Malky didn't want him to play against Liverpool because he knew that he would score."

Fan 1 "Really? Seems a little odd doesn't it?"

Fan 2 "Telling you the truth mate. Im quite in the know. Also he doesn't get a look in because of the Scottish connection with the team and Malky"

Now, I was stood there almost rubbing my eyes in disbelief...... It was possibly the biggest pile of crap I've heard since Dave Jones saying that the South Wales Derby is "Just another 3 points".

First off, if Malky honestly thought Earnshaw could have scored a goal and been more effective than Miller then he would have played him and not left him out. That seems like an extremely stupid thing to do and say. Secondly, Scottish connection? If that is so then why was Conway left on the bench?

Im up for a debate and up for talking about anything Cardiff related, but this? This was a giant case of "did I seriously just hear that?"

What makes our support yesterday even more amazing is that we probably had 5 or 6000 spare wheels in the crowd in the form of plastics, who didn't make any noise - except for moaning afterwards. And talking shite, in the case of your experience.

Makes the mind boggle doesn't it.

I heard a number of people say that Earnie wouldn't have missed the miller chance.

I just think what would happen if earnie was on the pitch at wembley with a good chance

You could have added why not play Marshall and not the "brilliant performing Heaton" ;)

( Just a thought ) ;) - Forgot about Paul Quinn ;)

Had a person sat just to the right of me wearing a Liverpool home shirt with "Gerrard" printed on the back and even jumped up to celebrate after Liverpool had scored

Thought the atmosphere was rocking from us to be fair though, definitely the loudest I've heard us at Wembley from the 3 times I've been (missed the Barnsley semi-final :( )

It's almost as if Earnshaw scores every time he gets the ball at his feet according to some fans

Marshall admitted he would have loved to play but Heaton deserved it. I can imagine he would have turned down being the number 1 for this occasion after publicly saying something like that. As for Quinny? I reckon he should be getting a few games, quality defender (or rather quality breaker of legs ). Has been unlucky not to get as many games as he should be getting but then again when he's up against Kev its hard to get a look in.

Blatent Plastic I say....

I heard one the other day, "The problem with Cardiff these days is they have no 'TALL CENTRE HALVES THAT SCARE STRIKERS'"
I said, "Havn't you seen Ben Turner?"
His reply "Who's that?"
And yes, he had a ticket for the game and is a UTD fan.

An other one yesterday
"Why can't Cardiff play that type of Football everyweek?"
I said, "we play more Football than that week in week out, you only see us on the highlights"

These South Wales plastics do my nut-in

Cant say he is a plastic im afraid. He goes regularly to home games, seen him at the odd away game aswell. Has been going for a while aswell. Makes it laughable that he can spout being "In the know" like that and its all not true.

Plenty of plastics there deffo. I had one woman who I think must have been about 60 asking me why I didnt cheer Bellamy when he came on.
Simple I said he doesn't play for us he plays for Liverpool who we are playing, why would I cheer the opposition.

Oh she said...

I got the impression she thought he played for city still....
