Bellamy "more Welsh players for Cardiff" Thoughts?

Have always thought this since way way back. When Sam took over I am sure he was trying to get an all Welsh team! I loved that! I think its important to have Welsh internationals at the City.

But it does bug me for some reason, how do you feel? Part of me thinks we can be all Scots if malky wants it that way as long as we are successful that whats most important, but It just niggles me that apart from Darcy getting the odd run and Earnie out of the picture that we don't have a Welsh first teamer particularly on a big day like yesterday beamed around the world. Does MM consider Welsh when looking at transfers? Doubt it, just wants the best player for the money irrespective of nationality, and thats understandable. Just bugs me!

Really not bothered about the nationality of our players. I just want to see 11 committed, hard working,honest players doing justice to the shirt and the club.

Bit of an unexpected and random comment from Bellamy really. All of our players (with the exception of Kiss and Gestede) are British so what's the problem? We'll be fine in terms of the homegrown rule (unlike a lot of Premier League clubs, mind) and we've produced more than our fair share of talented youngsters in recent years.

Agree with your post Cwmann i for one are happy with this squad,but we need to get in new faces in soon.

Bellers oldest son is on our books - hence there are Cardiff born lads out there who we should try and keep

That's easy to say, but how many Welsh players out there are good enough to play for Cardiff and would want to play for Cardiff? As long as they're good, put the effort in and love playing for the City like our current set of players, then I don't really care where they're from.

Watched Inter Milan the other night and they did'nt have one Italian player in their starting 11 would love to see some Welsh players in the City side but at the end of the day they have got to be good enough. Let's hope there's a few Welsh youngsters coming through the academy one thing is for sure if there and they are good enough Malky will give youth a chance irrespective of where they are from

Funny you should say that i run a local under 14s team and 1 of my players has been asked to go to man utd also had offers from another 6 prem clubs cardiff didnt want to know.

dont know why he's saying that last year there was him ,earnie,darcy,matthews,rambo we,ve had plenty come through we could say the same of the liverpool team that there should be more scousers in it..only gerrard and carragher.
