Simple, does Heaton's performance earn him a slot as a number one. Both are great goalkeepers for me, but Heaton now edges it, saving Steven Gerrard's pen like that and his performance.
I think if Marshall is in the sticks against WHU, Heaton has no future at this club and that is a shame.

Marshall is number one ATM so fully expect him to start.
Both very good keepers.

Goalkeeper is the one position you can rotate with the least effect on the team, generally, so Malky could just swap when he feels one wants to start more, and I think ability wise they are equal. But if it came to one..... Heaton.

I couldnt disagree more with this, I think its the one position you cant rotate easily.
People will say Heaton because he had a very good game at Wembley. If you asked after a game Marshall played very well in then the result would go the other way.

Also massively disagree with this.
What if Marshall had the best game of his life against Ipswich? we would have all still expected Heaton in at Wembley.
Both very good keepers and it amazes me that people have a go at either or both of them.

I'm not having ago at either, i'm just saying Heaton will leave because he will want 1st team football.

If thats what he has to do then fair enough. Would be a shame.
I dont think him playing against WHU will effect that.

Both really good goalkeepers - really hard choice to pick between them!

In a way the only real way to please both keepers and to give them both time on the pitch would be to designate one the home keeper and one the away keeper.

Can't vote, as I think both are brilliant at what they do.

Up until now, it's always been Marshall to me, but over the last two games I think I would prefer Heaton especially from corners, he must have worked really hard to improve so much on this part of his game.
Both good though, and I don't feel that strongly either way....

Both keepers are very good at different aspects of their game and balance eachother out in a sense.
Marshall - Excellent shot stopper and proven penalty saver, good reactions and distribution is decent, sketchy at times though. Weaknesses are that he doesnt command his area well and is poor from corners and coming out to collect the ball (leaves the defense to collect it and clear for him)
Heaton - Excellent shot stopper again and again a penalty saver. Great reactions and commands his area well, always comes for corners and to collect the ball which is both positive and negative because if you come for the ball you HAVE to get it or your screwed. Weaknesses are that he has poor decision making when it comes to distribution (anyone who remembers him from his ninian park days will remember him kicking the ball nearly 90 yards and completely missing our players by miles) and that if the ball comes to his weak foot he cannot clear it well enough (brought through the famous Manchester United "strong foot is the only foot" academy).
Its difficult to pick a keeper outright that is better than the other.

Good points. But whenever I think of David Marshall I always picture Blackpool's second goal against us at Wembley in the play-off final. Always.

Whoever is in goal for us - i wish them the best of luck

- We have 2 good keepers for the rest of the season
Better than last season when we were left with Byewater

Marshall is our no. 1 and I fully expect it to stay that way. Heaton has done well in the cup this season and is ready to step in when needed.

Sadly i think Heaton wont get the chance he deserves, theyre both very good keepers, i just feel Heaton deserves a run in the team after a number of good games in the cup (minus semi final leg one

)

Heaton has now proven that the more 1st team experience you get the more confident and better you get between the sticks (1st time for him in a cup final that must be hard) as Palace away well most goalies and outfield players make mistakes regardless of experience David Seaman springs to mind.
Didn't Fergie want to keep Heaton
