1st post....be gentle!

Hello fellow bluebirds

I've been following this forum site for months but I've now finally got around to registering myself so I can add to debates etc!! I really enjoy the read & felt compelled to get involved too!

Been going to games ever since the Eddie May era (great days in the basement battles !!!) so feel I am able to contribute with a degree of knowledge that I'm not talking complete tripe!!! (at least I hope not!!)

I am really enjoying this season more than I can say for a long time. Unfortunately I've had to miss a few Saturday games this season due to parenting responsibilities but it hasn't been many in truth! The reason I am enjoying this season is that for the first time in a long time we seem to have a group of players & staff who genuinely want to play for each other & earn their pay checks.

In the nicest sense I don't really care what happens this season now....Yes ok we may have missed the boat on potential signings in January, or loans that may or may not come...the squad is threadbare but anyone who has been going to City for years should be used to this by now!

But we are still in the hunt - and that is something I (and from what I've read on here) a lot of us didn't really anticipate happening when the glory boys moved on in the summer.

We are in a cup final which I simply cannot wait to go to as it will be the first time in 4 visits where the pressure really is off - and fans/players & everyone involved with the club can just go up with no serious expectation levels & enjoy the day. Who knows what may happen? Liverpool are serious favourites, but with that tag comes the pressure to perform. And they will need to as one thing we will do is run the legs off them for 90 mins.

Playoff/Automatic promotion expectations...much higher than the summer, even now with the "blip" we've had. Every team has one at some point in the season & I would rather have it now & still be involved than have it at the end of the season which has happened before! A couple of fresh faces wouldn't go a miss but if they don't come then so be it. We will have to rely on luck with injuries/suspensions...and luck on the pitch with decisions by officials (thinking that had the Boro keeper been sent off when we lost to them, and the Ipswich keeper been sent off after 9 mins on Saturday..the results may have been totally different).

This could be a season that few would have believed or imagined in August, but if we get the rub of the green then it'll be a season none of us will ever forget. A cup win & promotion...well....we can dream!

welcome mate! the forum is great and I hope you enjoy. i joined straight after last season and am completely hooked.

you will get some great debates, meet some great people and even a few of them who we dont speak about down the road are allright aswell.

A good first post. we have exceeded expectations this season without a shadow of a doubt, i think like myself though there are a few on here who thought while we have exceeded and we were near the top just 1 or 2 additions in jan who have made for an interesting run in. some results have gone our way some havnt, and we havnt had the best of months in feb, however we move onto sunday for a great day out and regardless of the result , it will do us the world of good and hopefully we can push on an maintain that promotion push.

if i remember last season swansea didnt bring borini in until around this time and he was inspirational for them until the end of the season, so there is still hope that we can bring in a bit of quality at this stage.

but we are all bluebirds and we are all agreed on one thing and this is our support for cardiff city..
