Also not looking forward to it!
CRAIG Bellamy has told Cardiff City fans he won't celebrate if he smashes a Wembley winner this weekend, admitting he's not looking forward to facing the Bluebirds.
Cardiff-born Bellamy - a former City loan star - is expected to line up for Liverpool against his boyhood club come Sunday's Carling Cup final.
It's the Wales ace's maiden trip to Wembley as he goes in search of a first medal in the English game.
But the 32-year-old is still dreading the prospect of going up against the team of his family and friends.
Bellamy said: 'My father is a Cardiff fan and it's the club I used to go to when I was very young.
'I set one ambition, to play for them, and I was able to do that, and it's funny how football can work out sometimes. It's a great final. Football can sometimes be very unpredictable - I didn't ever look at this or plan to play a cup final against Cardiff and this year it's just happened.
'But it will be a strange situation because it'll be the first time I've ever played against them - and it's not something I've really not looked forward to doing, to be honest.
'Would I celebrate if I scored? I certainly wouldn't - but I tried not to against Manchester City in the semi-final and with the occasion and the moment you can get carried away.
'But I've got to be on the pitch first before I can think about scoring.'
Bellamy paid tribute to Cardiff's run to the final under Mackay, saying: 'It's another great occasion for us but it's an incredible occasion for Cardiff City.'
And the City favourite - who scored 11 goals in 35 appearances last term - even claimed he wouldn't lose sleep if Cardiff lift the trophy on Sunday ahead of the Premier League giants.
But the 67-cap star says that's more to do with his new relaxed approach to the game as he heads towards the latter stages of his career, one he reckons has helped him hit the heights in his second spell at Anfield. 'Honestly if I win on Sunday I win, if I don't, I don't.
'I won't lose one second of sleep over it,' he said.
'I've had a great career and enjoyed it but is it defined by trophies? No - and it never will be. I don't even know where my Scottish Cup medal I won with Celtic is.
'I try to win every game I can and I've achieved more than I could have ever set out to.
'I will carry on that same approach and if I win great but if I don't I can walk away knowing I've enjoyed it working as hard as I can and giving my all for the team.
'I've just felt so relaxed going about my football this season. I've tried to enjoy it as much as I can because this won't be around forever. I'm very fortunate to have realised this while I'm still playing.'
'I just take every day as it comes. You might think you have to win trophies and I'm a failure if I don't - but it's far from that. I've gone with that attitude over the last few months and it's amazing how I manage to get into a final thinking like that.'
'I'm going to carry on taking that approach, trying to work as hard as I can in each game and if I win, great, and if I don't I can walk away and enjoy it by knowing I've worked as hard as I could and given my all for the team.'
Bellamy says he has no fitness concerns to block his chances of featuring in Sunday's sell-out affair.
The forward missed Liverpool's FA Cup win over Brighton at the weekend, but he explained it was a pre-meditated rest as he prepares for a hectic schedule starting with this weekend's final.
'We have a lot of games coming up, not just the Carling Cup final,' he said. 'I have an international game straight away, then Arsenal. It's a busy run of games yet again so it was a case of getting it sorted now.
'I start training on Thursday and am fine at the moment.'
'We've worked hard to get in this position. Every single player has worked hard to get us to this stage.
'We've earned the right to get to this final. We've gone and attacked this competition and hopefully we can finish it off.'

I've just been speaking to one of Bells best mates, he reckons for the first time in Bells life he honestly believes that Bells is not even sure if he wants the team he is playing for to win. Hmm
Also he said Bells always knows how to get out of a game, if he doesn't actually want to play in it. Interesting.

When he played for us he played with his heart and soul.
Playing for Liverpool is a job.
I don't know Craig personally but I would put money on it that he's not a jobsworth.

I hope he doesn't play. He is a legend in my eyes.
I think his head is not in the right place but then again maybe it would work to our advantage!!

he loves liverpool ,
he's never been a cardiff fan early on in his career, when we we're not in the championship he'd ridicule cardiff city and playing for them,
which is fair enough because he was too good for division 2 or 3.
the only thing he has in commen with the club is friends and family and he was born here,

I agree, Baz, I feel he is one of their best players and is one of those players who is likely to score the winner.

Bellamy wants Cardiff to win! FACT.....
Bellamy is not fussed on playing! FACT.....
However Cardiff is not his boyhood club as stated above! FACT.....
Wed Feb 22, 2012 4:18 pm
A front three of Bellamy, Suarez and Kuyt would be to much for us to handle. Id be a lot happier with Carroll in the team
Wed Feb 22, 2012 4:51 pm
If Bellamy scores he will celebrate and don't get me wrong I loved his time with us BUT HE LIED!
Bluebirds may just give him a reason not to celebrate

He will always be a CCFC legend. If he plays, I hope he gets a great reception. He was the ONLY player (other than Super Kev) who gave a damn last year.

If I was you I'd be concerned about the other 9 outfield players ,they can score goals from most positions .theyve scored a few lately from set pieces corners etc ,so whether Bellamy celebrates or not is academic

I reckon all this not celebrating against former clubs has gone over the top. Fair enough, don't run up to the fans taking the piss or anything but nothing wrong in celebrating with your team mates as long as it's not over the top.
I would much rather Chopra stayed off the booze and gambling last year that have himself look like a good bloke by not celebrating against us now.
