Because he's been on the ropes as it is but then he made a massive call to leave some of the stalwarts like Ashley Cole, Lampard plus then Torres on the bench and it backfired.

The likes of Cole, Terry, Lampard, Drogba have far too much influence at the club and i think AVB will be kept and those players moved on in the summer. AVB was Abramovich's choice, apparently thats the first time he's actually chosen the manager and paid the compo (£15m) out of his own pocket. Can you imagine Fergie putting up with the likes of chelsea's old guard? Keane, Van Nistelrooy, Beckham.......player's shouldnt get to the stage that those were at.

Totally agree with the majority of posts above. AVB is only 34 years old and I think the bullies at the club have seen it as a chance to run things their way and it's just messing the club up. Something definitely happened to make AVB drop the big names so I reckon he caught wind that the likes of Lampard, Terry and Cole were stirring.

I like AVB. He is still making some errors but are they his errors or the team's lack of care? From what I have a seen a lot of the flaws in Chelsea at the moment are coming from the players. If Abramovich was a decent chairman he would come out and say "AVB is here for the next 2-3 seasons at least so like it or f**k off". Abramovich isn't a good chairman though, he won't do that and Chelsea won't win the Champions League so long as Abramovich is chairman.

i dont think he will get sacked, avb cost chelsea a ridiculous amount of cash and he inherited a squad on the decline for the last two seasons.

he needs time , ship out the deadwood and build. he still has some good youngsters there in sturridge and bertrand kalou etc. but he needs to get rid of the rubbish like malouda, torres etc. hes a young manager also and the prem league is tough..
