he should stay but first team football is wat he needs at this time in his life,

Tom Heaton should definitely stay, I personally think he is better than Marshall and will be a great asset but that is just my opinion. Heaton should be our No. 1

I think Malky's known he's leaving for a few months which is why we signed Parish in January. I bet if we hadn't made the carling cup final we'd have soldhim in jan ratoher than lose him on a free in the summer.

IMO both keepers are just average keepers and we need a new number one sooner rather than later

Yea thats true, let Heaton go if anything tho. Marshall is very good when hes in good form. Al Habsi wouldnt go a miss at the stage we are at.

Heaton seems a really nice bloke but i thought against Palarce he was very dodgy. His handling was awful but his Penalty saves was fooking awsome. If he can sort out his handling he would be a top top Keeper IMO

there both very good keepers at this level. I think Marshall is slightly better, but we are lucky to have 2 very good keepers!

I would thank him for all his efforts and move him on. We need a keeper who dominates the penalty area. That has been sadly lacking for some time. If we had one that did Blackpool would not have beaten us.

Lee Grant is their keeper, Jenson only played 3 times this year.

Neither of our keepers is good enough imo, let him go.

I rate Heaton but think Marshall is slightly better. In that case, if we can get decent money for our reserve keeper and use it to strengthen in other areas then why not let him leave! He's a decent championship keeper and must be frustrated to not be playing!

Offer them both new deals and if one won't take it make them number two.

100% in agreement both bottle high crosses on a regular basis. Blackpool at home proved to me Marshall has no heart for a strong challenge

heaton will be gone. he has already been asked if he wants a new contract by malky, but that is knowing he's number 2 for him, he will go, hes too good for the bench

Heaton's a very good goalkeeper, and he's always seemed very assured and composed to me (compared against Marshall's foul and Tourette syndrome-like outbursts) regarding his communication and relationship etc. with the back four. And he's better than Marshall in dealing with crosses and corners etc. IMO. Marshall seemed to have vastly improved that aspect of his game but his mistake against Blackpool the other day proved that he's not out of the woods yet. Both are good shot-stoppers (Marshall more than Heaton perhaps), but Heaton for me. You don't spend 7 or 8 years at Manchester United (although he never actually made an appearance for them and he was out on loan for most of the latter half of his career there) without being a decent player.

Both Marshall and Heaton are out of contract end of season, I can see only 1 really staying with Malky looking for another overal to get "malky" type players in.. Been linked with Joe Lewis of peterborugh in the past, who is a free agent in the summer, and made one or two fantastic saves for posh the other day agaisnt us, england under21, been linked with a call up..

Joe Lewis also made some absolute howlers against us last week and his kicking was appalling. Give me Heaton and Marshall over him anytime mate.

If people dont like Heaton or Marshall because they dont come for crosses they wont like Lewis who gets beat from corners
