Got down to CCS at 5pm with my sleeping bag and all my other essentials and lo and behold, I find that there isn't a queue! As you can imagine, I'm dead happy that I'm at the front of the queue as I set up camp. I'm wrapped up cosy in my bag when 2 guys from Lampeter show up around 6PM. After a while, one guy pops into the supporters club to enquire about coaches and he comes back saying that the Supporter club have been AO.Ked by the club to sell tickets until they close to save some people from the cold night. By 6.30, I've got the ticket that I would have originally had to wait another 15 hours for!
I got my ticket and I'm sleeping in my warm bed tonight. Cheers to the gents at the Supporters Club!!!![]()

I grew up with no interest in football. If you asked me which league Cardiff were in when I was 16 (22 now), I'd be stumped. I had no idea of how the league system was structured, the difference between the UFEA Cup and the Champions Leagues, I wouldn't be able to name say...14 Premier League teams off the top of my head. All I knew was that a Russian owned Chelsea, Beckham played for Real Madrid, Rooney for Man United, Chris Moyles once begged on his Radio Breakfast show for a billionaire to come forward to rescue Leeds in their meltdown, Nottingham Forest once won the European Cup (later to learn it was 2x winners) and which teams Fergie and Hughes managed.
So when I did get into football at 18, along with how my Dad raised in sporting matters, I came in with a neutral perspective. I hadn't been raised on a diet based on hating Swansea, so baring in mind this was the season that Cardiff made it to the FA Cup final and Swansea were crowned champions of League One, all I thought was how good these events were in raising the profile of Wales and its sporting culture. Now that I've developed opinions on football, my one of my opinions are support all the Welsh teams playing in the English League system.
I know people are entitled to their opinions on the rivalry, but I personally find it very silly. Trust me, I believe in friendly rivalry, every year some English and Scottish mates of mine have a bit of banter when the Six Nations come around and last season I was having a battle of wits with a Norwich fan I knew through Uni. But once that was over, its back to business and we have a good laugh about it. But during the last derby at CCS, I ended up sitting next to the segregation (seriously, I was using the netting as a stand for my matchday programme) and both fans on either side were spending their whole time yelling insults at each other when I wanted to say was "Guys, there happens to be a football match going on right in front of you, that's what we paid to come here for!" Sure, I was downhearted when we lost the game, like I said, I enjoy a friendly rivalry, but the vile hatred between the two fans quite upset me. As the only Welsh teams in the top 4 leagues, I feel we should be standing together all the time like we did after Mikey Dye was killed outside of Wembley. `Bluebirds and Jacks put their differences aside to support a family going through a terrible time in their lives.
Say want you want but while I support the Jacks, cry "Up the County", watch the Six Nations and back the Welshman fighting in the ring, remember this: I'm a Bluebird.![]()
