Should the Welsh Anthem be played at Wembley?

The anthem was played for the FA Cup Final, should the Welsh National Anthem be played for the Carling Cup Final this time around?

Well said! Every City game is Wales v England. We should always remember what they've done to us down the centuries and are still doing it today. Unfortunately there will be a lot of Welshmen supporting the Scousers at Wembley. Singing the anthem should make them feel like the traitors they are!

After losing the FA Cup Final to portsmouth i got great consolation from the fact that a large percentage of English cnuts absolutely hated the fact that a "Foriegn" team were playing for the "English" cup in the "English" league and we as foriegners should not even be allowed to grace their park.

It was ok years ago when we were shite. The could pop down to NP get 3points call us sheepshaggers and feck off home. Some of them even took fecking liberties!!!!....

But now it's a different ball game aint it, we rose to the top of the hooliganism league and smashed 'em and now we're rising to the top tier of the football league and we're gonna smash 'em again.

So along the way let's celebrate and sing a song......la la la la lla alla...and all that.

On a serious and more sporting note we are "guests" (cough) of the English league and my mammy always brought us up to make our guests welcome.

What really pissed me off regarding the FA Cup final was the amount of people outside of football poking their nose in about this subject. What they should have done was left it as it was. Abide with me was only started because Cardiff got to the cup final back in the day. Back then they had this argument about the anthems and decided to sing Abide with me instead. It then stuck until this day as being the traditional song to sing at the FA Cup final. By singing the Welsh anthem it kind of pissed on the history that Cardiff City created in the beginning.

Also have Wales won anything when the antem has been sung by Kathrine Jenkins? She's a f*cking jinx!

We are members of the Football League which is a competition open to football clubs from England & Wales, we may be playing a Premier League club but again the PL is a competition open to clubs from England & Wales. We are at the final fully on merit and not as anyones "Guests".

The question here is "IF" the NA were played how many think that both sets of fans would boo? Sadly to many would and I may be old fashioned but that is totally disrespectful. If the Queen was present then GSTQ would be played, and quite rightly, but sadly many of our fans would still boo even though Her Majesty is Queen of the UK.

This is a club football match and NA should not be a consideration when it comes to the participating clubs, if any NA is played it should be only GSTQ. Nothing to do with the "English" league system just respect to the Queen.

If anything I think the FL should allow both "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Men Of Harlech" to be played before kick off as this would help get the atmosphere going before the most important business of the day.

Totally agree and if it was down to me, I'd bring back national service, to instill a bit of pride in being British as well as Welsh!
