No signings, clubs want us to pay the majority of the wages. Hmm

The players we were trying to buy had resale values.
Loans have none.

Loans are dead money.

The other clubs are probably thinking that we have money, with the Carling Cup appearance bringing in extra cash.

Surely we are not the only club to be asked to meet players full wages? - there seems to be very little loan movement so far, but the window has only been open for 5 days!

Re: " UPDATE/NEWS "

Mon Feb 13, 2012 7:49 pm

Here's what I would do if I wanted to loan a player out during the loan wondow...
(1) Generate lots of interest in my player among as many clubs as possible
(2) Ask that the loaning club pay all the wages
(3) Bite the hand off the first club that is close to offering full wages
(4) Drop my inflated demands as the loan window nears the end as I wouldnt want to be left paying all the wages myself :(

So, looking from our Club's perpective it has to be wait and make an offer that can't be refused close to the end of the loan window - anyone buying a loan sooner has either money to burn or a serious squad deficiency.

3 or 4 million to spend on players during the transfer window, yet spend a fraction of that  so why can we only afford wages for 1 loanee ...anyone who has seen the last 3 games can see we need fresh legs,i just hope the club hasnt been bull shitting us about the money that is available to malky.

Just because we have 3-4 million earmarked for transfers doesn't mean we want to throw it all away on loans.

If we were going to do that we might as well just sign Tevez on loan and pay all his wages for the rest of the season and have done with it.

No one has said to throw the money away on loans...but in my opinion we need fresh legs to cement the position we are in,i wasnt thinking of tevez i thought we could get messi instead

I've got a feeling Annis that this season and next will be a consolidation of where we are as a club from a financial standpoint. I don't think the directors or Malky ever thought we would be where we are in the table and I feel they may have a long term strategy which means that a push for the premiership may be a season or two away. It appears that with no signings imminent wage bills will be kept in check to balance the books that have been so heavily spent on in the last couple of seasons. Only my opinion but we may not see premier league football for a season or two yet.....hope I'm wrong though :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: " UPDATE/NEWS "

As I've said in previous posts tht Malaysians dont want us in the Premiership yet untill the Club is stable and Debts are paid off.
They have previously said "you have got to build from the bottom not the top" Although you get good money for going up you still need better signings and wages go up. Swansea have money problems although they had big money for going up, they still owe the council rent for their stadium and seem to be struggling to pay that.

My mistake.

I still not a fan of loans, it's dead and expensive money. Then when they I back to the parent club people forget the costs and expense.

Like people said it was worth it to pay DJ off and everyone yet people forget we still pay them. People moaned about the lights for the pitch, another expense that's forgotten about.

Squad was doing fine untill 4-5weeks ago.We have been very lucky but there knackered now and we needed more players weeks before the window opened set up ready to come in let alone last bid half hearted bids 3hrs before deadline ended. There was even figures of supposed bids that total 4.5million for 3players mentioned which made me chuckle. We can go on ebay and bid for things worth lots more knowing we will never get them at that price and do not have the money for them at there REAL VALUE.We had no money in the first place as the last loan window told me this months ago when miller got an injury at hull and we played mason up front for three games and got one point when this window was open.A 150k signing of some kid whos going to bench warm thats are owners push for the prem. The owners do not want prem football this year for sure. They are paying debts off but that debt turns in to more expanded debt we owe them when the shit hits the fan.I can not get my head around how there going to make any sort of return CASH wise unless we push for the prem which they will have to pump money in to the SQUAD yet they are willing to pay supposed club debts off :? .Then theres other things like behind the scenes things eg/100k+ per month payed for by the club to fund some lame ass kids football school over in malaysia but we will never ever see a malaysian footballer playing in this country let alone for us.I've removed my horse blinkers i think some of are fans need to do the same. :ayatollah: Three points tomorrow will ease my worrys. ;)

Loans, loans, loans... What is the point of getting a kid who is not good enough or ready for the level we are aspiring to reach ? We all of a sudden have forgotten last seasons collapse with seasoned pro's- they don't give a toss, back to your parent club with the agent to sort out next years contract. The big premier league teams like loaning out their future stars to smaller PL outfits, exposing them to the PM whilst upping their value. Or are we prepared to take a gamble of an older player trying to get back into form ?

JET was an Arsenal superkid- it took us three months to realise he may be a good player one day, but no world beater.

I will be honest NO I don't, just makes the Malaysians look good in their country, but I very doubt if we will ever gain by it. I also know that the players that have come over wouldn't even get in our reserve side if we had one.

I don't understand I thought Carl said we had two bids accepted and after weeks of negotiations?
Would suggest we had the funds and worked hard to secure these deals.

Yes your rite they would never have cut it maybe i said abit to much but it winds me up as we are willing to spend 100k+ from wages to seeds for grass over in malaysia .I bet most fans would love to see that going in to say 2-3 players wages per month and a much better squad depth.

100k is minimal when you consider they are paying 1.6m a month to keep us afloat.
Also paid for sponsorship which I believe is the highest amount ever to counteract it.

Doesn't bothe me at all if we never spent a penny of transfer fees they are keeping us a float. Maybe we should get a owner like Pompey had and spent and spend

Looking at the clubs likely to come down this season, Wigan, Bolton and either Blackburn or wolves, I'd say next year will be a very good opportunity to go for it. Bit like last year but without Dave moans phucking it up.

Your missing the whole point here 2blue.
Its wasted money WE WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IN THE LONG RUN not the owners plus it could be put to better use within the squad thats what i mean by it.

I'm sorry I don't really understand what you mean

Yes we will have to pay them back in the long term so surely running a well run club is essential? And not wasting money?

If you mean the gamble then we should just get PR back and go with it

We are paying for the adventures out there its NOT the malaysians wallet weather it be from PR peoples stunts to adverts on there tv networks.I could write you a list of the money we are throwing away over there.Nobody wants PR back lets be fair if your talking about risk then how else do the owners expect a return or ever want a return then if they do not invest in the SQUAD ??because i can not see any other way there going to get one without a squad pushing in the top two. There was no better time when we was 3rd in the league and the window was open for 31 days which we remained in 3rd the whole time, but then we was told the old "THE PLAYERS WE BID FOR 3-4HRS BEFORE DEADLINE DID NOT WORK OUT" trick yet we had a supposed 4.5million floating around for these 31days like peanuts on a bar  .People soak up everything there told from what comes out of the club yet some know better.
