" CARDIFF V PETERBOROUGH FACTS/PREDICT SCORE "

Mon Feb 13, 2012 6:34 pm

Head-to-head

• Peterborough have won 14 and lost five of 25 competitive matches against Cardiff since 1954.

• Posh beat Cardiff 4-3 in the reverse fixture four months ago. At least seven goals have been produced in four of the 21 league matches between these clubs.

• Peterborough have won four and lost only three of their 10 league trips to the capital of Wales.

Cardiff City

• The Bluebirds are fourth, five points outside an automatic promotion spot, and in danger of losing three league games in succession for the first time since November 2009.

• Saturday's 2-1 away defeat to Leicester was only their sixth reverse in the Championship. Only Middlesbrough have been beaten on so few occasions in this division.

• Malky Mackay's side have failed to score in only three of their 30 league games; fewer than any other club.

Peterborough United

• Darren's Ferguson's side have not won in seven league and cup games, drawing three and losing four since a 1-0 triumph, away to Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

• In four months Peterborough have dropped from ninth to 18th with just two wins in 13 games, and one point out of the last 12.

• The London Road club are yet to register an away victory against a top-half club.

TEAM NEWS

Cardiff are likely to be without midfielders Stephen McPhail and Aron Gunnarsson as they host Peterborough.

Gunnarsson hobbled off during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Leicester, while McPhail has turned to doctors to help stem the onset of Sjogren's syndrome.

On-loan Fulham defender Matthew Briggs is likely to make his Peterborough debut in the Welsh capital.

Forward Paul Taylor missed training last week due to illness but should be in contention for Tuesday night's trip.

I'm confident, but we really need to bounce back to boost our confidence :? :ayatollah:

hope not annis, we must up the work rate, intensity and really get at them from the off.

a 2-2 draw would be a big let down.

im not feeling confident either, but i believe in malky and hope we can turn things around tomorrow.

We are struggling to create enough chances and leaking goals at the moment so its going to be a tough game and expect them to score, so 2-1 for me with a late goal to settle it for us.

im quite concerned, the leicester match was the worst ive seen city play for ages, kevin and taylor have to be on their toes as Peterborough have pace throughout their side.Theyd also be stupid not too adopt the tactics of our previous two opponents and crowd wittingham at every given opportunity.
gunnar and mcphail being out is a big loss and I really hope Huds is back.

Id be over the moon with a confidence building win but my head is saying a very difficult 1-1 draw

I'm going to predict a 2-1 win for City.

Fingers crossed we'll see Kadeem Harris, too.
