Bluebird For Life wrote:Sorry but I agree the DVLA is a rip off. We don't ask to be charged £20 for a picture that has no need to be changed plus having the picture taken itself adds another £5.00. Wouldn't mind that so much if they took off the outdated points from license when they re-issue it, but from what I have been told that costs another £25.00 - how can you say thats not a rip off?

Like I said previoulsy, I don't object so much to the £20 to renew but why should it cost additional to have points removed... That is the rip off as far as I am concerned.

That's before lessons which run at around £20ish an hour. Average is 40 hours so you're looking at around £800 on lessons alone, and that's hoping you pass first time.
On average I imagine there's usually around £1000 spent on every license. That's before youve even had your first car. So yeah, I agree. DVLA is a complete rip off.
Privatise it, incentivise competition, drive prices down.

Thanks for clearing that up - person I spoke to at DVLA said £25.00 and three years. Obviously not a clued up Bluebird like yourself perhaps its different for speeding caravans![]()
