Swans fan in peace...

It's a well written article, but to focus on the rise of Welsh football, if I was writing a piece on Cardiff City, I would probably have spent a bit more on the struggles that got them to the championship rather than devote so much of the piece to this season. Same as when you write about the Swans, the real story is 8 years ago, not this season.

Please take this in the spirit it is meant, like I said, a well written article, looking forward to your blog on the Swans.

Agree with you-18 years it took to get back to the championship after the durban years. Many false dawns in that time with numerous 3 and 5 year plans, dodgy chairmen, crap managers and players of the caliber of Andy Kerr and David Greene. It's such a shame that Sam overspent on getting back. He would have been better off with smaller squad (i think at 1 stage we had 33 players) however hindsight is a wonderful thing and i will never forget May 2003 when i took my 6 year old boy to the Mill Stad and the 114th minute winner of Andy Campbell.

Tough times for both clubs, makes you appreciate the good times even more though. And no mistake, compared to 20 years ago, these are good times for both teams.

Put it 1 way if someone had said to me 20 years ago that CCFC would be averaging 20,000 plus and have been to Wembley 4 times I would have questionned their sanity. My older 2 boys who are 8 and 14 don't realise how lucky they are. Away trips to places like Wembley, St Marys and the Hawthorns. I had to put up with Edgar Street, Twerton Park and the Vetch!

Same here, my lad's 11 years old and doesn't realise how lucky he is. Twerton Park, the worst ground I ever had the misfortune to visit.

I've been there at least 4 times. Was one of about 200ccfc for a freight rover game in about 1990-never been so cold and we lost 3-0. Following year lost 2-1 and it peed down. Saw a 2all the following year and had to keep my gob shut because in rovers end listening to all the west country knuckle draggers hurling anti-welsh abuse. My only ccfc win was a friendly win at Bath City.....
