" Is Malky really that good? Was DJ that bad? "

First I will look at the team that Malky employs and compare it with the first team last year.

Malky's team DJ team
Gk Marshall GK Marshall
RB McNaughton RB McNaughton
CB Hudson CB Gerrard
CB Turner CB Hudson
LB Naylor LB Taylor
RM Burke RM Cowie
CM Whitts CM Whitts
CM Olofinjana CM Kiss
LM Bellamy CM Gunnarrson
CF Chopra LM Conway
CF Bothroyd CF Miller

He spent at least 1.5 million on that team (Turner and Miller) maybe a bit more. True Burke and Bothroyd left before he got here but MM has had a lot of backing in getting in Taylor, Earnie, Gunnarrson, Cowie and Conway on free transfers (large wages/fees) maybe the same sort of backing DJ got in getting McCormack or McNaughton on frees or cheap deals. True Bellamy was an anomoly that wasn't here this year.

The squad behind that isn't much different to be fair so when we are looking to canonise Malky we shouldn't be looking to slate DJ so much as there's not much difference really.

I say this as having not seen Malky's Cardiff play as I currently live away. I would love to be proved wrong mind.

Johnny as usual what is your point?

We've played more varied formation and tactics in the 7months MM has been here than we ever did under DJ.

We've had younger players being developed and loans that look to that.

The main issue is DJ's biggest weaknesses:

Ability to develop youth
Ability to change a bad run of form fast
Ability to adapt mid game
(There are others but you get the point)

Are MM's biggest strengths. DJ was a good manager, but he's stuck in 200-04 and not adapted to how football has changed whereas MM is constantly reassessing.

The easiest way to explain the difference is here: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/edito ... -23712589/

"The changes? The club had no recruitment department. They had 11 regional scouts, six of whom had never met the chief scout, while none had ever met the manager.
The club had no medical or physio facilities at their training ground. No sports science department. No performance analysis, no diet plan."

its not so much the team but with dave jones he did not show any passion to his players or more important to the fans
In Malkey we have a manager that shows great interest in the club from the bottom to the top and links with the supporters the same passion that we show to the team
He really cares about Cardiff City and kicks every ball during the match (Certainly better than standing with your hands in your pockets)
The reason for our failures over the the last 3 years is Dave Jones failing to get the respect of his players
EG The match against Middlesborough and more importantly failing to suspend the "drink" players after that episode
I agree dave jones brought a certain amount of success to the club but he failed to sustain it and it wasnt through lack of player signings
I believe Malkey will take us to the premiership and also get the full backing of the board to keep us there when we do
