Tell him to go to Citizens Advice-if he doesnt own his house he might be better off doing a cva.

i used wonga once, and it was fine, but only because i knew i could the amount off in full come payday. If you use them for them that purpose then it can be cheaper than an unauthorised overdraft, but otherwise best to stay clear. These are difficult times though and i feel for your mate, he'd be best organising a proper load asap and paying them off asap.

The best thing your mate can do is ring them, explain and be honest and offer to pay an amount off per month that he can afford. Ask them to freeze the intrest ( they might not do this mind)

Best thing is to be honest and speak to them. Tell him not to burry head in the sand. They should be ok with this as it's cheaper than threatening debt collections and they get there money back.

There interest is very high and this is the reason!!

Give it a go. I am no expert but worth a try.

I work in the finance industry - he needs to speak to them but at the same time get some advice from the CaB, Money Advisory Service or any other free advice service.

Like the previous "poster" stated - he must not ignore them as his costs could spiral - act quickly and be honest

cheers
