" MONEY AVAILABLE ? "

Thu Feb 09, 2012 3:05 pm

So £4.5 Mil was a available to us in the last transfer market. Hmm

I am just wondering why we never completed the deal we arranged with Craig Bellamy at the end of last season, Bells was promised another year by Malaysians and so Bells waited, then he was told the amount of money was no longer available to him.

Just wondering what went wrong or did they decide not to spend much money till Malky proved himself ?

I am posting this as Bells kids go to school by my house and Bells last year was adamant he was staying with Cardiff and we were the only club for him, he waited and waited and City never did get back to him.

So I don't blame Bells for eventually going to Liverpool and I hope City fans give him the respect he deserves at Wembley. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I just hope he does not come back and haunt us at Wembley.

I will give bellamy a good reception and i'm glad i was able to see him in a city shirt. he always gave his all and was excellent for us when he played up front. But having watched city train on a number of occasions he certainly didn't make himself part of the team. The team all trained together and he trained on his own with dutch raymond.
He may have had his own reasons for this but i don't think this would have fitted in with malky's style as the players seem to have far more of a bond in training this year.
We also shouldn't forget how much of a drawer liverpool must have been to him not to mention the money that comes with it.
Lets be honest craig has always said he supported liverpool as a lad so, though he has an affinity with us he also has an affinity with them :ayatollah:

when asked what stopped Bellamy from signing for us on yesterday's webchat thing, Malky replied "Liverpool". No mention of not having the money available....

Probably the best player in the Premier League this season, most influential so don't blame him for not staying if he had the choice. None of us know what went on with the deal, Craig stated in an interview in Pre-Season that he couldn't lose his wage at Manchester City due to his commitments in Africa, wasn't it something like 70% of his wage goes out there..? IF it's one player who scores against us at Wembley, I really hope it's Craig and no one else.

Can't fault Bellamy for last season and will respect him at Wembley before and after the game, but during it, he's the opposition and I hope we give him as hard a time as Ramsey got for Arsenal in th FA Cup game at NP which led to him being taken off...
