Earnshaw

When Malky was giving his question and answer session, did anyone ask him why it appears that he has turned his back on Earnshaw?,if the question was asked can you tell me what his answer was,if the question was not asked....why??

It was asked.

I missed the start to his answer as radio was gutting out.

I heard him say that earnie has a good attitude and is working hard in training. We are currently one of the top five scoring teams in the league and earnie will have to wait for his chance.

The caller then said about how earnie can get anything in the 6yard box and MM reply was we need to get it there for him to score. I believe that's why he is out of favour, his overal game just not good enough

Still seems a bit strange why he hasn't played much though, hie experience and goals would warranted a few sub appearances ahead or rudy.. just my humble opinion though

It was asked in the Webchat, the answer and question follow :

First up, a question from Nicky
Hi Malky. Firstly can I just say a belated welcome to South Wales and thanks for all of your efforts so far this season.
Can I ask if Robert Earnshaw features in any of your plans for the rest of the season?

Malky Mackay: Hi Nicky, Robert is part of the squad, like everyone else. He's been unfortunate recently because of the form of Kenny and Joe but is training hard and is desperate to get back in and scoring goals

Im not sure I get all this Earnie hoo-haar!!

Malky has us playing a formation and way that is seing us get results and in a position far better than most if not all of us dreamed of.

Miller has been that loan striker, and been superb. Anyone who says earnie can do better is mad, his touch is poor compared to Kenny, the ball would just continually comes back at us.

Miller work rate in my opinion would be far superior aswell, as is his football brain!

I'm sure many will disagree, as there are a few Earnie tinted glasses.

If we played 4-4-2- then Earnie would be a perfect 2nd striker, but we dont and 4-5-1- works very well for us!

agree miller has done very well for us this season so don't have any problem with him starting but when we need someone on the bench to come on and score rather it be earnie than rudy anyday

It was nice seeing Earnie back in the blue and white but hes not for me to be honest.
I dont get the fuss about him, let alone the fuss about people saying we should play 4-4-2 (same people who criticised DJ for it) over 4-5-1 because 4-5-1 is "too negative to play at home". If it gets results, they shouldnt question it right? Especially when the 1 upfront is Miller who is our best striker in terms of finishing and his general football ability and knowledge.

haha no worries mate, I was just venting  I share the same opinion on Earnshaw mind, he's passed his prime now, but the majority of the board seem to love him however. Always boggles me but ah well, onward and upward :ayatollah:

theres no question of choosing between Kenny N Ernie.. Miller all day long but who would you chose between ernie and rudy, rudy's not scoring and doesnt do much as a sub?

The chances are if Rudy is being brought on its a change of game plan eg more direct/arial. Or to hold it up for 5mins to keep a lead.
Therefore I would say Rudy, and dont get me wrong I like Earnie :ayatollah:

Im not a Ernie fanatic  Just going by the threat he imposes off the bench and his goal scoring :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Also defensively rudy is an asset at set pieces

Earnshaw had his chances at the start of the season and missed some howlers :( :(
I do agree that some games, he could have come on as a late substitute though.
