Men To Gods part 2

Wed Feb 08, 2012 12:39 am

I return to this theme with reluctance but i feel the need to repeat myself, although i cant remember exactly what i said on the original posting of Men to Gods if think i was trying to make the point that although many of you on here think Malky is the second coming and that Carl is the Welsh version of the Orical i tried to make the point that both individuals were in fact human and therefor prone to making human errors of judgment.........lets now bring this posting up to date and what to we find?..it would only be Malky's most ardent fans that would never admit to what most neutrals know to have been errors of judgment when dealing with the last transfer window,in retrospect was it in deed wise to have turned his phone off for a full 90 minuets as the window of opportunity was gradually closing? i will leave it to others to draw their own conclusions......now i turn to Carl, again like Malky his most loyal supporters would see nothing wrong in him posting that now infamous story of the 3 medicals being booked,i simply ask would it not have been better for Carl to have waited for confirmation that the 3 medicals had been completed or in fact if there had been unforeseen circumstance that prevented said medicals to have gone ahead, then to have published the known details......my closing comments on this subject is as follows there are many on here who have taken great delight in putting these two individuals high on a pedestal so high in fact i suspect that they are both suffering nose bleeds as i type,my last few words are....what people have easily built up they can just as easily knock down

I dont see a point in your post at all
all youve said is maybe people should do things differently
a good quote for that is hindsight is a wonderful thing
Is Malky perfect of course he isnt though I think he is pretty damn good
Should have Malky concentrated on the game we played that night Id say yes every time points are points and if he said sorry i lost that game but I was concentrating on getting a deal done I wouldnt have liked that, as hes not the only person at the club and he wasnt the only manager FORCED to manage a game that evening
My point of view for what its worth is why the Premiership and the Football League decide to have fixtures on transfer deadline day is beyond me.
As for Carl, is Carl perfect no hes not, is his information always right no its not
The information he gets is pretty good
The medicals were accurate its one of many stages in signing a player Carl said 3 medicals were going to take place and booked
But several things can go wrong
the player could fail the medical (it happens)
the player could change his mind about signing for the club (it happens)
At no point did Carl say we were definetly signing anyone he stated the club were looking to sign players soon and not in the next couple of days but hours, but that doesnt mean they are going to sign.
The issue is fans perceptions if you think that 3 medicals guarantees 3 signings thats your problem not Carls, Malkys or the Clubs.

My dear JONNY012697...first of all may i complement you on an articulate, free of verbal abuse response on my posting......is it not the case that both issues that i covered is all about perception,we will take Malky first...is it possible that switching your mobile phone off on the last night of the window may have giving some people the perception that he really didn't care whether he strengthened his squad or not, further would it not have been possible to hand over control of matters on the pitch to Kerslake if he needed to,last point on Malky is this, how many on here picked up his throw away comment of not knowing what time the transfer window closed thinking it shut at midnight, did that have a bearing on him not being able to make any deals?...now i turn to Carl, when he posted that 3 medicals was now in place, clearly giving the impression that 3 deals were about to be done, would it not have been a better option for Carl to have waited a few hours to verify his facts before posting thus sparing him some embarrassment...so in conclusion could both these matters be interpreted by some as being a lack off judgment by both gentlemen

well to say Malky doesnt care about strengthening the squad is worrying for me because in that case unless there are reasons outside of his control he would to me showing a 'that will do' attitude and its not the person i want managing my club because I want a manger to look at where we are in the league and say what do we need to do to push that one step further wherever you are in the league, relegation zone, 2nd half of the table, 1st half of the table, play off spots or 1st or 2nd place.
a question i would ask is during the game id ask why didnt Malky have someone doing the transfer dealings for him, potential players would realise that there is a game on and a big game for us at the time. In my opinion if Malky wasnt on the side lines or on his phone during the game I would not be happy. As for not knowing when the transfer window closed it might be an honest mistake or it might just be a bit of tongue in cheek, but in honesty I thought the window closed at midnight. Sam Allardyce used the transfer window as an excuse for his 5-1 defeat was that a factor or was it just a bad day at the office for West Ham United.
as for Carl he gave the information he had at hand and maybe he was over excited as well after all he is a fan maybe he knew more than he was letting on maybe he didnt.
Carl is in a position where hes damned if he does and damned if he doesnt if his information doesnt result in a player signing he will get slaughtered if it does he will get praised. I think Carl realises this but carrys on regardless. I dont believe it was lack of judgement both Malky dealt and used the situations and information available to them and did the best they can. Lets not forget that Malky is just an employee of the club be it a very important one and Carl is just a fan with some very reliable contacts within the club.
Neither are at fault for only one signing i think situations just didnt work out
Am i disappointed yes I am
Am i understanding of course I am Malky tried you cant ask anymore

another example set by JONNY012697 ยป on how to post on here, again it was articulate and well put together and although Jonny did not agree with my posting it was free of verbal abuse
