Before my time but would have to say Bill Jones, being the last manager to get us promoted to the top flight.
Others worthy of mention are Jimmy Scoular, Jimmy Andrews, Len Ashurst [first time], Frank Burrows, Eddie May, Lennie Lawrence, & even,, yes,,, Dave Jones,,,,all for different reasons.

Len ashurst first time is the one I can remember most as a kid loved going to watch City then dave bennet his brother PETER KITCHEN who was shit but I loved it all the same.
You could chose lots of managers-
I remember Jimmey andrews just but very young so no comment.
Lennie lawrance for getting us in the championship
Eddie mays barmy army for just max enjoyment at every game
Dave Jones for getting us so near but so far away from the prem +FA CUP

Theses are my top 4 if I had to make a choice its going to Lennie Lawrance he started the good times lots of fans now take for granted .Never forget that day out against qpr at the millennium stadium and andy campbells winner fans jumping into my broken arm that I had at the time.Best day as a City fan for me .And the Sam Hamman years when it was good it was amazing so Lennie has my vote.

Scoular for me but the Eddie May years were certainly some of the most enjoyable in more than 40 years supporting City.
