thank god for that long overdue in my opinion why would you want to play games with empty stadiums it cant be good for team morale and it keeps our pitch tidy
Tue Feb 07, 2012 11:38 am
Shame a 1 off! They're guaranteed a low(er) crowd due to opposition. The Arms Park factor should cancel that out with 'the moaners' returning, hope pays off for them.
Tue Feb 07, 2012 11:42 am
Sadly, only for one game. The sooner the egg-chasers move out of our stadium, lock, stock, and barrell, the better. Nothing but trouble. Good riddance to them.
Tue Feb 07, 2012 11:58 am
Yes it is clearly a case of listening to the moaners. Unfortunately the ones who shout the loadest are moaners whilst everyone else keep quiet.

it is a one off, but its being used as a yard stick to see how popular the arms park is, they chose the caunnault game as historicaly its one of the lowest crowd attendance game,
lets hope they fill it out.

If they fill it out, which to be fair, is going to happen, some will use this as justification to move back there totally. Those elitist moaners though are too short sighted for their own good. They are happy in their own ground with small crowds because then they feel special. When they are out of that comfort zone with new faces around them they don't like it.
If those people put as much effort in to building the crowds and making things a success then they'd have excellent gates.

Not sure they could afford to buy out the contract with the city?

The rugby fans message is loud and clear. We LOVE our rugby in Cardiff, we are MAD
and PASSIONATE about our region.
But erm... dont be expecting us to walk more than 500 yards from the pub to watch it!!
The Media darlings of Welsh Rugby have scored a MASSIVE own goal by moving to the
CCS....soon to be re-named the F.O.R. Stadium (high five for the first one to correctly
guess the acronym

)
They thought that crowds would actually grow, when in fact they totally missed the point
that rugby is a dying old mans pie and a pint sport in the Capital. Playing games in an
empty stadium where the local football team play to packed houses every week has lost
them the next generation of potential rugby fans.
Its not over till the fat lady sings, but she's currently finishing off kebab meat and chips
and is gargling with listerine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:27 pm
Will somebody explain to me why so many on here are/would be so happy to see rugby die? And possibly in a constructive way rather than just slagging off the sport, the fans, the gates, whatever else you hate about it?

Agreed. Plus.....you support your team wherever they play.

I'm hardly shocked by this. In fact , i think the Blues have been trying to "worm" their way back to the AP for a long time now, after all, its what all their supporters want, & who could blame them!
Tue Feb 07, 2012 5:38 pm
Sorry, Berwyn, but that's plain wrong.
Numerous fans of Cardiff RFC / Blues brought facts to the table. They were routinely shouted down as "negative", "not real fans". Now the facts are showing how bad the deal was to the club, well, people still want to bury their heads in the sand.
Elitist moaners? Or people who pointed out that the "income streams" claimed by the move made little sense? That increasing the rent fivefold whilst losing other income was folly?
If we were forced to make such a bad move from a number of perspectives, especially financially, would you then call anyone complaining "elitist moaners"? Not "real fans"?
The reality is, certain members of the Blues would absolutely love to rip the deal with us up and move back to CAP ASAP. It'll almost certainly cost them a hell of a lot of money they don't have to do so. if the situation was reversed, PLENTY here would be complaining. And I'd say most are "real fans".

I believe they are also playing at CAP v Ulster on the 17-2-12.
That`s two games now.

Even when it's killing the club financially and your turning up "validates" a bad deal? Bigger picture, folks.
Tue Feb 07, 2012 5:54 pm
All I no is the region is a mess could have much higher crowds but left valleys rugby out by calling it Cardiff blues it was like us being asked to supporting the jacks which is never gonna happen .Same for valley people supporting Cardiff.I understand that being a Cardiff boy living in Pontypridd.Cardiff was ponty's main rivals the egg heads have cocked it all up BIG time.
The arms park is where they should be are pitch looks good even though rugby is played on it but they dont belong at the ccs.
Tue Feb 07, 2012 10:03 pm
Can we all go the game and act as Blues fans and get a cracking atomsphere there so they might want to go back their!
Tue Feb 07, 2012 10:39 pm
Berwyn - egg-chasing was always an elitist sport.
Hooligan 898 ( sorry if I got the number wrong ) - you really don't understand CCFC do you ?
No egg in our stadium

....And the winner is!!!

I believe the attendance at the last game was 2,000+, a game in a competition where they'd already been eliminated from progressing any further, still shit attendance though.
Football is number 1 around these parts now!!

I dont hate Rugby, i actually enjoy watching Wales play at times.
But like it or not, all rugby is in Wales is a once-yearly beano for
the Home Nations Championship. Loads of muppets who couldnt
tell a knock on from a wank giving it "we are the Welsh" as though
their lives depend on Rugby.
The media will never admit that grass roots rugby in Wales is dead
on its feet. Its nauseous
There are hardly any youngsters in the grounds.
Twenty years from now the kids will all be wearing City shirts
