To be fair, could you see the London Blitz beating teams like the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants? No, not really.
They probably use the term "World Champions" because American Football is the biggest sport in America so they would obviously be better at it than say Columbia.
Added to that, there was actually a time when the NFL used to send the American teams over to Germany, England, Spain and Canada and guess what the majority outcome was? America's teams won.

Anyone can play in the NFL there are zero homeland restrictions, there are people from other nations in the NFL.
