Superbowl XVWIIIVI

Sun Feb 05, 2012 10:44 pm

or whatever it's bloody called. What a load of old rubbish. It's basically a game of rugby between two teams of motorcycle messengers. That goes on for hours and hours. I wonder why it's never really taken off outside america  I'd rather watch a plank warp.

Your username is very apt

I don't think my dislike of the "sport" is going to prevent anyone else's enjoyment.

No, it won't because due to your dislike, your view is irrelevant to people who enjoy the sport.

Then again, you clearly dislike it, got your goat enough to put an emo thread moaning about it.

Maybe that can be a new unique selling point for the forum. Whine threads. The forum can enjoy numerous threads on incorrectly boiled eggs, female drivers, the Jacks, people who don't pick up their dogs shit, binmen not doing their job, et al.

The thing that confuses me about America is they have fine sports like football and ice hockey available to watch out there but it's American football and baseball that enjoys the most popularity? This from a nation that says cricket is boring???

It's a very strange place is that yankee doodle.

Bit of useless info but Cardiff had an American Football Team in the 80's called The Tigers. Seen a game once at Ninian :ayatollah:

I grew up a Packers fan....we did not have the NFL in my area. I own a share of stock in the club.....but when the NFL came to Tennessee I became a Titans fan. I still hope the Packers do well. Wonder who the Wembley game will be next season? I seriously doubt they ever send the Packers over there. There are certain teams who fill seats here in the States and local owners would hate to loose that ticket money.....Packers, Steelers, Cowboys. Doubt they ever send those teams across the pond.

Sure they said on Sunday night the Patriots were coming over next year.

You are right Polo, Patriots vs. Rams

Rams are playing games there for the next three seasons.......It does not surprise me that the Rams are coming over but the Patriots?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/others ... years.html

Very interesting development....the Rams have been heavily rumored to be moving to Los Angeles. Maybe the NFL is trying to get the Rams over to London?

They wanted them to take another play or two and run the clock down. kick a field goal and they would still have won.

by scoring wen they did it gave the patriots time to hit back.

If the Giants had waited to score the team would have ensured victory, running the clock out. But the way it was, the Patriots allowed the Giants to score in order to get the ball back with :57 seconds left. The quaterback of the Patriots is one of the greatest players of all time, Tom Brady. When they got the ball back I thought for sure they would march down the field. But the Patriot recievers could not catch the ball.

BTW same thing happened in the 98 Super Bowl, Packers allowed Broncos to score to have a shot. Did not work then either. :(
