Exeter City and how many other clubs get the tickets ?

The Exeter City Supporters’ Trust is delighted to announce that once again the Trust have exclusive tickets for this year’s eagerly anticipated Carling Cup Final, featuring our club's conquerors Liverpool, and our Welsh neighbours Cardiff City.

This match will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 26th February 2012, and our Trust has access to an allocation of tickets by virtue of our Football League membership, and will be making three pairs of tickets available for our members to purchase.

"We do not yet know the location of the tickets but they are always some the best seats available and the Trust will confirm their position once we receive them. They will be priced at either £72 or £90 each so £144 or £180 for a pair. They will be in either the Liverpool or Cardiff area though only just i.e. on or near the half way line.

You can only wear appropriate colours for whichever area we receive i.e. Liverpool or Cardiff or no colours at all. No colours from other teams, even our own, are allowed. However normally, whilst not wearing their colours, you can be [quietly] supporting the opposing team to the area you are in, as the area is normally friendly with supporters from various teams in them as described above."

All clubs who take part in the competition get a small number of tickets the same as the FA Cup we are probaly talking less than 1000 tickets between all clubs.

You could ask the question what happens to the tickets our club gets every year for both the League Cup and FA Cup Final.

Years ago the club would hold a raffle for ST holders and if you name was drawn out you got a ticket. I won 2 in my time Everton v Watford 1983/84 and West Ham v Aresenal 1979 /80.

Those were the days when ST holders were really valued. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

In my opinion it is wrong. Finals should be all about the fans of the teams that are in the final. The vast majority of the 90,000 seats should go to CCFC and Liverpool with the middle tier going to Club Wembley members and the FA/Sponsors. That would enable each club to have approx 38000 fans each. Exeter fans saw their team lose in R1 or R2 to Liverpool-why should they get to see a final when they arent there?

Gary, Liverpool and Cardiff have had about 63,000 between them, wheres the other 30,000 tickets gone ? This use to be called the fans final and each club use to get up to 40,000 each. This is suppose to be different than the FACUP.

Each club in the Football League gets 15 tickets each. Those that are not taken are returned to the FA

From Facebook

Ceri Gravenor What I don't understand is why you would want to go to a football match to watch two teams that you don't support. It would be like me going to watch Jacks v Man United, it just wouldn't happen. Wrong, so wrong.

Annis with due respect my friend thats not the question you asked, Exeter City have an allocation of tickets as do all other FL clubs it's part of the rules and it happens every year whichever team reaches the final.

Are Cardiff and Liverpool being treated differently to other teams who reach the final? Where the rest of the ticets go well certainly Football League Sponsors will get their fair share and who is to say thats wrong. Money makes the world go around and the money business puts into the game entitles them to tickets but you also should understand that things like County Associations maybe even the Welsh FA get tickets.

I'm not saying it's right but it's the way of the world and it won't change. Also we are only the 35th club to play in a League Cup when well over 100 have competed in the tournament, giving a small a percentage of tickets to the clubs who never make the finals is fair if the clubs offer them to their fans to give them the chance to watch a big final.

In 2002 I was lucky enough to be given a ticket for the Spurs v Blackburn final at the millenium, I think I remember reading that SH took TLG to a final with tickets no doubt given to the club. I have no problem with that because it does give football fans a chance to experience a major final they may not otherwise.

It just the way of the world my friend and it will not change. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

True Gary that was not my original question and your right we are being treated the same as the clubs last year. But you do wonder where 30,000 tickets go ?

2Blue when we reached the FA Cup Final I got my tickets from a friend who is a member of the Devon Couty FA. Fantastic seats right on the halfway line and they cost only £60.

When it comes to fair why do County Associations pay less than the fans of the competing clubs. The same thing will happen here and under the rules both finalists will get a set percentage of the gate but have no control over who gets tickets and what they cost.

It's just the way of the world. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Annis, Its unfair for Liverpool yes. But as you have said yourself and I agree with, we don't have 30,000 season ticket holders so no 'true" City fans should or will miss out on this great day.

90teams x 15tickets = 1350 tickets. 675 taken away from each team in final.

its not right but its fair because every club be it man utd or rochdale have to accept it.i reckon it should be 40k each team but if a team didn,t sell out the touts would buy them through people who could get them off the club.remember forest /man utd.man utd eveywhere in ground.i went to that game with an exg/f who won the tickets from tnt where she worked.when i played sunday morning football i know for a fact that my local f.a-cannock chase got 2 f.a cup final tickets .they were drawn out and if like my pub team you won then the tickets needed to be payed for.the landlord and his wife went to a final in cardiff this way once when our name came out the hat

to wright its wrong a lot of our fans cant get tickets .for some reason they have changed the rules this was always the fans final thats why it became so poplar and a better day out than the fa cup final i was always under the impression were going to get at least 36/000 each i hope the football league havnt sold there souls to the devils who are the corprate fans

With regards to the sponsors, I used to work with a well known fast food company and they sponsor the community shield. Every year, each of the stores was given 2 tickets, 2 x approximately 1300 every year, and that was before the head offices and business partners had their allocation.

I could easily imagine Carling using around 8-10,000 tickets going out to pubs, business partners etc...

Re: " IS THIS IS WRONG AND UNFAIR ? "

I think with the FA Cup the club's are not allowed to give their tickets out to fans. I know the club used to raffle them at one time but the FA put a stop to it, or so I was told. I wanted once to do a competition on the website with tickets being a prize. But I was told we weren't allowed to do that. Bit of a bitch though because radio stations were allowed to give them away.

Re: " IS THIS IS WRONG AND UNFAIR ? "

Not unfair at all. It is the Football League Cup after all. If memory serves me right I do remember City season tickets holders inthe 80s getting FA Cup Final tickets. It is an event and tickets are distributed fairly as possible. Loyal City fans will get tickets easily.

It's the Liverpool fans I feel for. there will be soem season ticket holders that never get a final ticket. they must have 40,000 season tciket holders.
