Apostolos Vellios - Everton

Sun Feb 05, 2012 3:19 pm

It's my understanding that Malky has enquired to David Moyes about the possibility of taking Vellios on loan for the rest of the season. This has come from someone I used to work with at City and having checked it out with a few people I know that follow Everton religiously, they too have heard of this. According to them, he's desperate to play football and has recently fallen out with David Moyes as he's not played enough despite actually being their top scorer. His appearances are set to become fewer with the signing of Jelavic and the return to form and fitness of Anichebe.

I'm sure that Carl and/or Annis can back this up if they wish to as I believe it's going around the club.

He's a big lad and the Everton followers have said that he'd do a really good job in the Championship. They actually think it would be good to get him out on loan and get some games under his belt

No Everton bought him. Everton my prem team (sorry!) and he is 6 foot plus and only 20. I think he has the record of scoring the quickest premiership goal after coming on as a sub, under 10 seconds or something.

After all he debating about Rudy we will see what Malkay actually thinks of him if we go for another young target man on loan.

I would much rather a youngster who has something to prove and work his balls off for the shirt and the cause than to have that pussy spending most of the game on the floor or moaning to the referee.

each to their own and I agree long term I like having youngsters but we got a few already in that bracket and IMO with 3 months ld like someone proven at this level.

Vellios could be great then again he could be another rudy.

Trouble is Vellios does not work his balls off, it is the reason he has been dropped to the reserves - although he did score a hatrick in last reserves against Blackburn. He is meant to be lazy, if he sorts his work rate will be a good premiership player. Read an article about him recently Everton so frustated with him as he is looks quality.

You seem to have an interest in Everton, can you confirm if he has played more than 111 minutes of 1st team football?
