do you think that in the long run he may suffer the same as darcy has?? i mean not quite knowing his best position?
hind sight is awesome... but i think i would start him ahead of joe ralls?

No not at all.
Ralls and mason and totally different. Mason had a position behind the front man.

i agree diferent players. both have big futures ahead of them
today i thought ralls got taken off because he looked lost.. not so much a change of formation.

Did he? I felt he was the fall guy tbh. Witts and Aron looked a lot more lost in the first 45mins.

It's only an armband it doesn't have an evil curse or anything.
Thought cowie did ok today tbf, especially compared to some.

so as long as someone wins the coin toss and has a photo with the mascots thats all thats needed from an armband?
kev bottled a 50/50 in the first half that a leader on the field should have give him a bollocking for..!!
or getting into gerrards head for thinking he has the touch and passing ability of glenn hoddle?

IMO the captains role is more off the pitch.
Do you think if for example if Gettard became captain he would shout anymore and I'd so people would listen to him more? Of course not.
It's like MM giving instructions on the sideline, it has a minimal effect and he said the same.
Hudson isn't a shouter either, nor mcphail.

gerrard IMO seems like the last of the big egos at the club..
i wouldnt have him anywhere near the 1st team and i beleive DJ got this one right.

I totally agree.
Anyone see the moment where we had a free kick in the first half on the far side from the Ninian.
Gerrard demanded the ball from Marshall (expecting he had seen a run we had all missed).
But no
Marshall passed it to him and Gerrard controlled it (badly) and then gave Marshall the most arkwrd back pass.

what i hate is when he is on the bench.
as funny as he was pinging balls at the watford mascot. your unfit, warm up for f**k sake,
and stop trying to walk from one side of the pitch to the other balancing a ball on your head! seen it done on pontcanna

Gerrard's decent back-up but only back-up. We missed Hudson badly today. He just has that experience that holds it all together at the back.

Keinan or blake would have done better today.

i think blake has shot himself in the foot... hopefully he is being more professional if the rumours are to be beleived
Keinan is an interesting one, i always rated him. but MM knows best! i trust his judgement

Keinan has sadly disappeared from view by the looks of it. Shame. He was building a really good partnership with Hudson and once that was broken up he's never really been the same.

His tweets are interesting he seems to play in youth games to be sharpe and await his chance.

then either his attitude is super professional or he is sat on a massive pay packet?
Sun Feb 05, 2012 1:12 am
Thing is with centre-halves, they either play on the left or right of the partnership, and whilst some people may not take too much notice of this, it makes a big difference. Very rarely do you see someone who can play on the left and right, or more importantly, play well on the left and right. Darcy Blake is one I'm sure has played on both sides. For example, it's why Turner and Keinan would be unlikely to play together, as they both play on the left.
