We love Malky, but in my opinion todays team looked tired and clueless and I felt thats exactly how we were at Southampton and at a few previous matches.

Not signing extra players back in Oct and Jan will in my opinion come back and haunt us.

I have not just said this because we got beat at home today, I have said it for months.

I have said this for months, give Malky the tools and he will deliver, but we are missing some tools.

The 2 benches showed the difference today. BFC had Phillips and Bednar plus Lua Lua. We had Gestede, Mason and Harris. Their 3 attackers are proven top players-our 3 have potential although Gestede has not convinced me on the few occasions i have seen him

I've been fearing our performances have been below par for a few games lately.

I do feel we have enough cover in most positions except upfront. So if we need to bring anyone in its there.

Sorry I;m not convinced of Miller, he has cost us a few points with his erratic shooting.

Agree, today we looked tired & lethargic, poor passing & gave them to much of the ball. We need to bounce back quickly.

I dont understand how he is not making the bench, its just crazy really.
DJ was known to be stubborn but even when he fell out with players like Quinn, Thomo, Purse etc etc he still had them on the bench and played them when they were needed.

Mason, mcphail, Blake should have started IMO, whitts needs a rest, mcnaughton still wasn't fit and I think Mason is needed more than Ralls, at the moment. That's my opinion. Taking Kenny off for Gestede in a game like that was silly and I would have probably given Harris a start even though we were losing to get him some game time in our stadium.

Earnie should have played now in at least 5 games in the last 6 weeks, just my opinion.

On that performance Im surprised were in 3rd, I agree with Annis that unless we get 2 or 3 new faces in onloan it'll cost us a play off spot. We have a great squad that'll play for each other but I think that went missing today as well, we just are not strong enough in depth to compete within the play offs in the second half of the season. Saying that I said at the beginning of the season Id be happy finishing in the top 10 and Id still be happy with that, still onwards and upwards. It takes a defeat like that to come back stronger............

Every team has an off day and our team has massively over achieved. 6 points of top in Feb, i'd have bitten your hand off for that back in May.

Earnie should have played now in at least 5 games in the last 6 weeks, just my opinion.

I cant work this thing out about Earnie. He has been scoring goals. That is what strikers do. So why is he not at least on the bench?

The signs were there against Pompey too but we got away with it.

We're punching above our weight and the team should be congratulated on getting this far.

It would be disappointing to slip away now but we've already achieved more than I thought we would at the start of the season.

I won't criticise this team, manager or owners because things could be a lot worse and they've all done their bit to make this an enjoyable season.

I expected slow steady progress and if that's what it takes to get city back to a well run and managed club then so be it.

Where have a named called in this thread??? i am pointing out that others get named called or slagged off for any sort of negative post as they call it ,yet you feel negative like most fans today but others get treated diffrent in threads for typing the same sort of things you have typed thats my point.

Yea they played us at are own game today they closed us down far better than we closed them down and there passing and movement was a bit better.
They closed the space down to and worked hard did blackpool they never let us play i never thought they would last the entire game doing it but there goal came at the right time for them.

I had a rant at marshal for the goal when he punched the ball like a girl but he did make some good saves to.

I think Annis is spot on we have to get some players in someone with a bit of pace to get the ball to miller as early as we can.

I think we have missed burke someone like that with a bit of pace and we looked a bit tired in the end.

Overall I am happy more than happy so far with the City but it will be interesting to see if we can bounce back.

Just to say I think Malky got done tactically today buy the turnip muncher .

But in my opinion we should have widened our search and made sure new players came in. I have said this from the word go and I will probably get slated for saying this but the cup run is a nuisance and a distraction. It's only natural that players will have their minds on wanting to be fit for a big cup game against Liverpool and it's this that makes me think today many of our players simply just didn't get stuck in. With such a small squad the extra cup games are taking it's toll. It's no wonder we looked jaded and tired. We need quality in the loan market now, without a bigger squad then any potential win in what is a 2nd rate cup competition (compared to the FA Cup) won't be worth it at the cost not getting to the premier league. Having said that we have exceeded all expectations with effectively a new squad of players on a budget with a new manager breathing life into our great club once more.

When the transfer window was open the teams around us strengthened and we did not regardless of the reasons. That is a fact. We needed new faces and we did not get them except for Kadeem. We seem to get so close eery year and then we let it slip for the sake of a bit of extra depth and quality.

The current team have been excellent up until now but they cannot do it week in week out. We needed that depth but we have not got it at the moment. Who did we have on the bench today to score us a goal? Maynard would have been a good buy at 1.6 million. We are crying out for another striker, where is Earnie? and why didn't Harris get a run out for the last 10-15mins? We also need a bit of width.

Players like Gunnar & Cowie seem to be lacking form & Players like Whitts & Kenny could do with a rest.

Sadly, after not bringing new faces in, we haven't got a choice & they will probably play every game regardless.

I would definitely look at bringing Earnie back in (he's got a point to prove) to shake things up & giving Kadeem Harris game time too.
