Worst weather you've ever seen City play in?

Sat Feb 04, 2012 12:09 pm

I remember a Friday night game back in 1992 against Mansfield. It was so foggy. I couldn't see Eddie Newton score the winner. I also froze at elm park in Reading in 1997. Also sneaked in to the Vetch back in 1995. Snowed heavily then.

Bristol in the cup a few years ago was pretty bad snow. Watford away last year, may as well of he left at half time, could see feck all because of the fog. That and most of the play was up at the other end in our box!!!

Most recently that game at ashton gate a few years back in the snow. purely because I got back to Newport, and no buses or taxis were running, so had to make a long walk home through the night  I was sick cold drunk wet and coatless  :violin:

Southend Utd away in January 1976 4th Round FA Cup match. Had to stand in the open end behind the goal at Roots Hall with a blizzard blowing straight into our faces.

To make things worse we lost 2-1 to a late goal but at least had a train ride home with the team. Those were the days when the team would mix with the fans and I remember Tony Evans and Albert Lamour sitting with us for ages on the journey back.

Those were the days. "Alberts From The Valleys" "Alberts From The Valleys" Llanbradach in fact ;)
