CARDIFF V BLACKPOOL FACTS & YR MATCH PREDICTION

Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:44 pm

Head-to-head

• Blackpool have had the lions share of successes against Cardiff over the years; winning 32 and losing 14 of 66 contests.

• Four of the last five league clashes between these clubs have ended 1-1, including the most recent three.

• The Bluebirds are unbeaten in seven home games against Blackpool, winning three and drawing four since a 1-0 defeat in January 1995.

Cardiff City

• Cardiff are one of four clubs still unbeaten in the Championship in 2012, and are on their best equivalent points return for nine years.

• The Carling Cup finalists have not lost a league game since Christmas (W3, D3), and have been beaten on fewer occasions than any other club in the division (four).

• Malky Mackay's Bluebirds, one place and one point outside the top two, have trailed at half-time in only three of their 28 Championship games.

Blackpool

• The Seasiders, who have not lost in any competition in 2012 (W4, D2), are hoping to take their unbeaten league run to five games, with a third win on the bounce and 1,600th victory in league football.

• Ian Holloway's seventh placed club, one point outside the play-offs, are one of four who have not lost any game in this division this season in which they have opened the scoring.

• Blackpool came from behind to beat Coventry on Tuesday with two goals in the last three minutes, and have recouped an unrivalled 19 Championship points from losing positions (W4, D7).

TEAM NEWS

Cardiff centre-back Mark Hudson could return to the side after missing the past two games with a calf strain.

Kevin McNaughton is set to continue at right-back, after starting ahead of Darcy Blake against Southampton in midweek.

For Blackpool, Neil Eardley or Liverpool loanee Danny Wilson could deputise for centre-back Ian Evatt as he starts a two-match suspension.

Long-serving midfielder Keith Southern is a doubt with a gashed ankle.

Think it will be more like this myself. When we attack Whitts pushes forward, when we defend Mason drops back.
