A forum for all things Cardiff City

Its generally considered by serious football fans (as we all must be, spending far to much time on AAMB) to be either embarrassed

to follow any form of egg chasing (rugby) or just flat out allergic to it.
So what's your stance?
(all votes are secret, you won't get people wanting to put a pint glass over your canister if you man up and admit to watching it)

I'm a football man and can honestly say I will not be watching a minute of it but as a proud Welshman I hope the team do well. For me the sport is boring, played by a bunch of thugs and watched by people who don't understand the rules but pretend they do.
Then of course you get the anti social behaviour associated with it when loads of people decide to wear the shirt they bought years ago, which is now 5 sizes to small, and go on the lash all day resulting in town centres becoming no go areas for decent people. Absolutely not bothered that it is about to start and will be glad when it's over.
Bring on Blackpool I say.

Being a season ticket holder with the mighty Bluebirds the egg always comes second, but I will watch Wales play in a major tournament. I wouldn't watch club rugby or internationals that Wales aren't involved in.
The only things that's drives me mad is watching it in the pub with the ''diehard'' female fans 'come on Hooky' 'good boy Shane'

No. I hope that the Welsh egg-chasers get stuffed, and lose every game. Football, football, and only football

I'll got a ticket for the Wales v Scotland game... Looking forward to it.

All very true-unlike football where theres never been any anti-social behaviour at all.

Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:19 pm
I've been letching at some girl in my local pub all week. Heard her say how much she is looking forward to the rugby as a devote follower. Its back to the beer for me.
Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:19 pm

Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:57 pm

But it definitely comes second in my list of priorities

I hope you're not saying that all female Welsh rugby fans are - for lack of a better word - plastics. My step mum has been a life long rugby fan, can hold a debate with any male rugby fan, and follows Cardiff Blues, along with my Dad, to every game, home and away.
Still don't know how I turned out a footy fan to be honest.

NO
bollocks to the wru
Sat Feb 04, 2012 12:30 am
Errrrr.....NO!!!!!
Its a dieing game now played only by sons of mediocre fathers
Sat Feb 04, 2012 1:10 am
Variety is the spice of life, I actively attend 3 different sports on a semi-regular basis (so definately not a plastic, lol), The City, the Devils and Newport Wasps, as I work many Saturday's but tend to get the majority of my Sunday's off. My priority is the City but if working then it's the Devils and then occasionally the Wasps. I will watch the Egg but have to admit the Welsh media are definately too Egg focused.

Fair one I'm sure there are proper female fans about but generally the local pubs get filled with the type of woman I was generalising
