" TO DEAL OR NOT TO DEAL !! "

Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:52 pm

I have not been able to get on the board for the last couple of evenings due to being in Southampton on Tuesday and at a travel group meeting at the club last night.

I have learned I have been the subject of a few posts because City did not bring in anyone other than Kadeem Harris.

Firstly thank you to everyone who has responded to some of the idiotic posts that have been put on here and I appreciate those who have 'fought my corner' so to speak.

Craig Noone did not happen because despite a £1.5million bid from City on Tuesday, the Brighton chairman, who flew in from Australia on Tuesday afternoon, "overruled everyone" at Brighton and said he was not selling anybody.

Marvin Sordell, that bid may have come as a shock to many but certainly not me, I was made aware of our moves to bring in Sordell back in November, at the Coventry game I spoke with UTSL off CCMB and after we discussed many things, Peter asked me who the player was that we were chasing, I told him Marvin Sordell but the deal is more likely to happen in January and not by the end of the November 24th Emergency deadline loan window.

I recall UTSL posted on CCMB a day or so later about the conversation with myself and that I had indeed told him who the player was, I am not sure if Peter has posted about Sordell and our conversation since Tuesday when the bid was made public. I informed a few people privately about City trying to get Sordell in.

The bid was made on Tuesday evening and it was for £3million after Malky had been given the nod that he could do so, Watford asked for a couple of hours to consider, Malky gave them 30 mins to come back with the answer whether they were accepting or not. The call came that the offer was accepted and we had permission to speak to the player and agent. Another phone call was received to say that Watford had received a bigger offer and asked us to 'up our offer', Malky pulled the plug at that point.

I can only give out the info as I receive and I have been very careful as and when I post certain things, I did on the day before the January transfer window opened mention Marvin Sordell in my column for the Echo as a little teaser so to speak. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sports/spo ... -30035878/

Thankfully the majority take the info for what it is and that is it is passed on in good faith :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Don't worry about it Carl.
Our fans love to knock people no matter who. Even vince Alm and Corky get stick sometimes which is really unbelievable.

Keep it coming Carl. Sordell would have been fantastic, but I'd be happy if we could get Mackie on loan. Especially now QPR have more strikers than the public sector :ayatollah:

i recall that night in Coventry Carl when you mentioned Sordell. I text Welshie a couple of nights later when he hassled me about who this player was. He will be my witness there.

Basically these idiots knocking you are looking to take it out on someone due to the fact the club tried but could not sign someone. I've got a feeling who they are and basically are a big nothing to worry about.

Thanks Carl. Sounds like Watford tried a not very subtle trick to get more money. Malky was right not to fall for it :ayatollah:

Thanks Carl, hope the group meeting went well.

I was going to say thanks for explaining everything, but It's a real shame you should even have to explain anything to anyone. I know people have their 'opinion', which appears to be the buzz word at the moment but some of the childish posts really annoyed me (among others) this week.

You were only passing on info you had been given and due to watching city and attending a meeting (for the fans) i appreciated the way most of the members fought your corner in your absence...and I have never met you (or Annis)

Keep the updates coming mate, onwards and upwards!!!

I put out on Tuesday that an agent told my source we had bid for £1.5million for Mackie I have not followed this up as yet but have been told elsewhere that we certainly made enquiries.

No real need to explain yourself Carlos. Was definitely an "eye opener" with how a lot of people just seemed to fall apart.

hi carl. i enjoy reading your updates. people must realize. that a deal is never done untill the player has signed the paperwork. we have had players down here in the past ready to sign the contract paper. then. wisked back up the motorway to signe for someone else. even with in side info. it can all change in a second.carl. i have been away on holiday so i havent caught up totally yet with all the info. but. call me a doubting thomas. but. something aint right .i feel. this sordell deal. i know the deal was excepted as such. but was it like. £500.000 now and the rest later for example. and the noone deal. was said a stupid price and insulting. is there money available. or is it just a case of keeping the fans happy. was there a plan b incase these deals never came through? as i see it . we are now looking in the loan market?

Carl your updates are 100% GENUINE. You may not always be 100% right, but who is???
Your not posting anything unless Malky gives you the nod, so nobody can accuse you
of undermining anybody either. Thats about it really. So people can read or not read,
believe or disbelieve. f**k em.

The only 'wrong 'uns' this transfer window were Brighton and Watford

Keep up the good work Carl. Hundreds of people enjoy reading your updates, you only need to look at the names and visitors on the bottom of the screen to see that.
Unfortunately a few people will be jealous. A few others just want to blame someone for us not signing anyone.
A few others are just twats. ;)

Re: " TO DEAL OR NOT TO DEAL !! "

Carl. your posts certainly cause great speculation and interest which are 'real time' compared to the 'excitement' caused by the echo articles over the last 40 years that I have been folowing the City.

The problem that I have (which I think is shared by many City fans) is the self importance that you assume whilst making these posts.

Just be one of the fans and post your opinion rather than trying to become the semi official source and you will get a lot less stick for your predictions that most often do not come true

Hopefully we will soon sign the striker and winger needed to get us promoted and you will be the first to here of it together with the rest of us!

Mike
