Talksport might yes, but these are direct quotes from Hughes at QPR

I'm hoping for a couple of new faces in the loan window but not getting too excited after the big disappointment in the transfer window. If we get some in then great but if we don't then we'll just have to get on with it with what we've already got. :ayatollah:

Yes we will have to get on with it but if we don't get any players in during the loan window sadly we may fall a little short on the run in. Hope I am wrong but this small squad can't continually keep going to the well.

It was laughable that people thought he was available.

Didn't Carl put a post up saying we put a £1.5m bid in for him?

In fairness a lot of the speculation and bullshit is put out there by agents who are trying to drum up business for themselves.
our football club are not shy of feeding duff information to the press as well so that they can pursue other targets.
its what makes the transfer window so unpredictable and hard to predict what will happen.

Between 17th to 20th January Carl was telling us that City had expressed an interest in Mackie.
Between 21st to 23rd January Carl was telling us that representatives of the club were travelling to London to discuss a possible move with Mackies people.
31st January Carl was telling us he took a call from a source that an agent was telling him City had made a bid of £1.5 million for Mackie.
today Mark Hughes has issued a statement saying that there is no chance of Mackie leaving on loan because he will be in QPR 25 man squad.

So if Mark Hughes is saying that now surely he would have been telling our club as early as the 17th January that Mackie was not for sale or loan.

Did our club speak to QPR about any possibility of a transfer??? possibly  . Or did they just speak to Mackies agent? - maybe  or has somebody been spun a yarn here - far more likely
The moral of this story - Do yourself a favour Carl, stop giving updates on players coming in during transfer windows because you will only get battered by snipers :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
