" 10,000 TO GO BY MONDAY "

Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:57 am

Cardiff City are on course to hit a new record on season ticket sales, they expect to sell 10,000 by next Monday and are hoping to reach up to 24,000 season tickets sales for next season.

Cardiff City is finally starting to show the football World it is a sleeping Giant. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

But first we need a full house against Blackpool home this Saturday, we could sell 40,000 of our own fans for the Liverpool game, so why not Blackpool ?

Wow, that would be amazing. Can they actually reach 24,000? With empty premier club seats, away segregation and i thought club had to leave 10% unsold for match days, I would have thought less than 20,000 would be max possible.

If Cardiff get promoted the away allocation also goes up at the CCS so it would be a tight squeeze :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:

Premier Seats are increasing by the day.
Plans to increase parts of our ground have already been put in place, just depends on sales, if we increase capacity.

Apparently , If the demand is there they will upgrade our ground and if we reached the promised land, work to make the ground capacity 35,000 would take 8 weeks. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Deano, its called supply and demand, it will all depend on our sales over the coming month.

Your right.

26,800 capacity, about 2,600 away leaves about 24,000 need to leave about 10% for walk up due to the fact that some cup games we need to also provide 4,000 away seats, 15%.

I reckon the most we can sell is about 21,500 to 22,000.

But we cannot sell tickets on the chance that we go up and expand the stadium, surely.

Your not reading it correctly Wayne, if the demand is there, they will start increasing anyway. The Malaysians want bigger crowds. It all depends on current sales continuing.

The point Annis has made here is pretty straightforward - why are people having difficulties in seeing it???

If we get the demand, the owners will make sure that the stadium is able to accommodate it,

simples  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm not having any difficulty.....I just dont think many people will have thought that we might increase our capacity in time for next season, which wasn't hinted at in the original post :ayatollah:

I'd love to sell 24000 season tickets but if i'm honest i would be amazed if we do. (if we dont go up)

I think the only reason people are rushing to get season tickets now is so they can have an extra liverpool ticket! I'll be happy though even if plastic liverpool fans are buying season tickets so they can go to the final. its extra revenue for the club, and even if they go to 10 home games next season i reckon the majority of them would catch the bug and become bluebirds :ayatollah:

On another note, it would be amazing if there was demand to expand the stadium if we were still in the championship. off the top of my head, i've never known any other club to do this, can anybody else name one?

I'm more concerned about the sometimes less than competent ticket office being able to manage selling seats that don't exist yet when they sometimes have trouble with the ones that do exist. They will surely have to take bookings on some sort of wait list when they get to 90% of current capacity (excluding prem club and away areas) and then let people move seats when capacity has been increased. It's all very good news though.

If we reach our targets early enough, then work will start and then they can sell them. :ayatollah:

The Club would sell the Premier Club seats a lot quicker if they didn't insist on members signing contracts commiting themselves to at least three years. When I bought my seat, I had to sign a contract for 5 years!

The difficulty came about with the news that expansion could happen even if we DON'T get promoted. The assumption was that only if we were promoted would we even start talking about expansion.

As far as I'm concerend this potential expansion next year is big news, worthy of an update in my eyes. :ayatollah:
